Planted over 100 cloves of garlic last fall.  Looking forward to a bumper crop.  We love garlic, but with that many I may be giving them as Christmas gifts.

We don't have a Starbucks.  I am amazed at how both of my daughters run in and out of Starbucks with coffee or latte.  They don't even pay cash just swipe their cards.  When we were in DC visiting my daughter there was more than one Starbucks on her block.  Very busy place, I make my coffee at home.

I think I read somewhere that it takes more barrels of oil to manufacture a plastic cup than a paper one, and then the water and energy you use to wash your reusable plastic cup was greater than .... well you know. Also read up on cold drink cups made from cornstarch, as well as disposable picnic utensils... but the cost of them was nuts.

Here's an interesting recycler.

have never been into one in my life...

I was in a Starbucks once. I was on campus on a weekend installing computer hardware and I didn't have anything to eat my lunch with (We had just moved into a new building and my trusty spoon was packed up). So I went into one of the THREE Starbucks on campus and asked for a plastic spoon....they looked at me like I was some kind of leper..didn't say a word, I just said thank you and left to go eat my leftover lunch and coke (25 cents a can when bought on sale...)

We had lunch at Pizza Hut yesterday and I must say I like Ci Ci's pizza much better. There is one in Hermitage and we have one in Sebring,FL. Could we get one in our area? NO?
Linesville forbids any fastfood business of any kind I guess. Why is that? The local restaurant owners? How? Why? All of the surrounding areas have both and all seem to succeed. How can so few dictate to so many?

I know what you are saying Zip and CLW. I'm talking about three or four people in the small town of Linesville.

Most people are like lemmings Lock.  At least that is how I see it.  They like being told what to do and what is best for them cause it's easy to let someone else do the thinking for you.  Most of the time.

It's a major contributor to my being a bit of a loner I think.  A little less approachable than most people.  I don't have a herd mentality.

Yes, and some people just don't have ordinary common sense. It's like the light bulb is very, very dim, but put them in front of a video game and they're brilliant for hours and hours, figuring out all the twists and turns and hidden things. Now if they would just apply that to real life....
