my daughter is the same way. Do you go to Chik -Fil-A? They seem a bit mor natural albeit expensive. The funny thing is we went to a buffet (Mrs.TiFeMb can't process the grease - no gallbladder - so we won't return) and Mrs.PickEater decides she LOVE whole fried catfish! ESPECIALLY the crispy fins!

Go figure.

With kids it really tough to avoind the fast food thing. I mkeep trying to steer them towards 5 guys since their ingredients are minimally processed. Problem is... the only meat my daughter eats is chicken McNuggets and occasional deli turkey. Now how do I break this to a 5 year old. Maybe I should just keep my mouth shut.

Burger King Veggie Burgers are excellent. I don't know if that would appeal to a 5 yr old, and it probably has more ingredients than the McNuggets, but everyone I know who has tried one really likes it.

Have fun fun in the apple CLW. Have a nice big pastrami sandwich for me.

Zip - thought of you today.. saw a woman with extremely short hair walking not one, not two but THREE Great Danes. One was spotted, one was black and one was brown with a bit of white. HUGE dogs, just HUGE. I'll stick with my 70 pounders.  :)  (Can't find the pet issues thread.)

LOVE them. I wish I could manage three of them, or had a professional pooper-scooper on board.

Reilly is great. He is so curious and into everything I do. I haven't been "annoyed" yet, but sometimes when I'm working he butts his nose right in-between the keyboard and my fingers and demands some "me" time. So I stop and play with them both, and then he's good for about 5 minutes. LOL

CLW has horses! While not in the house, that's some big handling I can't do. I remember when I first met my step-daughter. She was 12, and lead this huge (beautiful) Appaloosa out of the barn, totally in control and totally unafraid. She lives in New Mexico on a horse ranch now, with her boyfriend, who is in veterinary school.

I am always respectful of both ends of a horse, and everything in-between.

Greetings from Princeton.  Spent the afternoon in Philly....went to Reading Market and picked up some great pies then strolled down South St.  My daughter drove over from McGuire for dinner which made me oh so very happy....what a lovely day.  Heading into NYC tomorrow morning - though it's supposed to rain.

I really need to get rid of this eleven year old computer and dial up...coming from work to this is like going way back in time...but like I always say...if it ain't broke don't fix it...plus I am really cheap when it comes to things for myself... :) ...

At 11 years old I think you've wrung out about all your gonna get out of the thing. I'm surprised your operating system is still working. Most manufacturers dont support them after 5-6 years.
If you are looking for a bargain try here http://www.geeks.com/
check out the refurbished units for a bargain. They are usually employee machines that were turned in for replacement. Many have alot of whistles & bells on them at good prices. Refurbished means tested and cleaned and anything that needs it is fixed or replaced and is warrented as equivelant to new.

Geeks.com is an excellent place to buy new and refurbished. Even Tiger sells refurbished and you can pick up some good and current equipment. With just the basics all you need is free operating system (Linux Based), Mozilla Firefox, Open Office for word processing and free anti virus ( AVAST, AMG) and you should be good to go and it only cost the price of the equipment.

And.... Even though I have DSL...my wife insists she is satisfied with dial-up from Access995. So, at $9.95/month..she has it.... hmmmm internet access for the cost of 2 packs of cigarettes/month or 2 trips to Mikey Dee's. And....it keeps her happy  ;D .

So... no one has a real excuse not to be able to, very inexpensively, move into and hold onto the Computer World. You just have one thing you have to do..... DO IT!

Thanks...I keep looking...but I just can't seem to come out of pocket to buy another...until mine just won't work anymore...I thought yesterday was the day...between me and someone that I work with...we seem to keep my PC running...they laugh everytime I ask them for help...but then again they know how Cheap I am... ;D ...I know it will be soon...not sure Laptop or Desktop... :-\ ...what brand... :-\ ...any suggestions...anyone...NP...Tife...anyone... ??? ...

If you're not on the computer a lot, why not get a laptop? Much more compact and convenient, especially if you only use it to surf the net or get your email. Plus they come with CD/DVD drive.

My sister has one of those mini notebooks and loves it, but no CD/DVD.

I need the whole tower and monitor set up, because I do graphics and so much more, but most laptops come now with plenty of speed and memory to store lots of photos and such. And external hard drives are much more compact and convenient than ever.

My computer guy prefers Hewlett Packard, but Dell is a leader also. I have an Acer laptop which works just fine, but they did something funny with the hard drive space, ~split it between two hard drives internally, and then run the operating system on one of them. It's just a little weird for storing things, but I don't use it much.

I would recommend a Net Book. Cheap, small enough for a purse. pick up wireless anywhere. just the basics. If you need storage just get an external hard drive or use an online service.
