Ok.. anything goes. This is a short, but great commentary on civil religion and why it is not Biblical. (You oldsters may remember the discussions I got into on Hey Martha about this topic...  ;D  )  Says it way better than I ever did.

Took the car to Trumble County Ox Roast put on by the Glenn Christian Church just west of Mecca,Ohio Sunday. 25 years ago it started out with like 25 cars. This year close to 2000 cars. All food, all day, no cost all day long. It runs the whole labor Day weekend and on Friday 60 trophies are awarded, Saturday 120 trophies and Sunday like 320 trophies are handed out to qualifying cars. It gets bigger every year. A lot of rides were brought in and no cost to ride. Many food consessions were there but there were costs for that type of food. Lines were very long all day Sunday. A very nice church service was at 10:30 am on Sunday. A beautiful day it was and everyone had a great time. Many of our local guys were there also.
  :wahoo:

Started the day with the intent to go fishing. Got as far as the ramp, and then it started pouring. My rain guage says 2" for the day.
But it did manage to catch this shot.

I haven't had a flu shot sine Uncle Sam gave them when I was in the Green Machine. I did go to a quarterly meeting in Butler at the VA Hospitol. They now have Flu Clinics set up for Veterans and at some the VNA will be present if dependents want to purchase the shot. It will be free to Veterans but I think the VNA will be charging. I had heard between $25 and $32 so dependents need to bring their Med Ins. cards if they have them.

From our meeting with those in charge, the shot is a single injection of H1N1 and 3 to 5 other strains. I am not sure which groups will need boosters later on.

I don't get the Flu or Pneumonia Shots as I have very little respitory infections.... colds, allergies, etc. Not saying I won't need one at a later time though. The body changes with age and faster as the toilet paper comes off the roll.

If there are any Vets interested in a VA Shot schedule, let me know and I can post it on here.

After my battle last year with H1N1, I ran out and got my flu shot already. (Remember, H1N1 wasn't available in our area when I got sick)  Yes, this year's shot contains H1N1 (type A virus), H3N2 (type A) and influenza B. Both WHO and CDC agree that these are the active strains circling the globe right now.   Historically, H3N2 has had the most deaths.

Getting a flu shot is so simple, inexpensive and in many cases, reimbursable thru health care. I can't see why anyone wouldn't get one, just to avoid being sick, much less dying from it.

With the exposure I have had to the flu - more so in the past two years or so - I think I likely have a good natural immune response to it/them.  Which is best.  We had to quarantine a large unit last winter due to several Influenza B cases and at least 2 (confirmed) cases of H1N1.  I spent 12 hour shifts with those folks.  Didn't get the shot then and not getting it now.
