I think the article said everything except K-Mart.  Even the buildings on the premises that are not physically attached.  The old Save-A-Lot too.

It would be great to have Target, Kohls, Marshall's, TJ Max ... i would even welcome another grocery store ... I hate shopping at Walmart .... CLW is right, since the revamping they have really limited their choices. The choices in the deli department are way down.  And who the heck designed that parking lot? Please!!!!

I'm sure if K-Mart is staying there will be some sort of exclusivity clause in there. There has been a lot of discussion about Target on the pipe, but right now I don't see it happening. It would be nice for people to have another choice though.

How many "dollar" stores does Meadville have now?

I would love to be able to come for a visit and spend money in the local economy, but there isn't much opportunity to do so. Last summer I brought the family. We spent money at the Oil City outlets, Waldameer and then went and spent a couple nights in Niagra Falls. The only time we spent money in Meadville was at the new movie theatre.

Hopefully, when we come back, CLP will be open again. But honestly, watching the videos on Toutube of the current state of the park is depressing...

There is rumor on that "other" forum that big things are brewing for the park next year....but nobody is talking...and I haven't heard anything...so, guess we will just have to play the waiting game.

I think they should put in an oil refinery. Keep local prices low - piss off some environmentalists - - - I think that'd be a swell idea.

Well wasn't it built on a swamp anyway?  I mean you can't screw up the environment much more than that.  Might as well dig away!

I still think they ought to put in a casino.  Maybe the crappy motels will reappear on 322 - The Wagon Wheel, Lake Road Motel... haha  :P

Actually This could be a prime spot for a BJ's store. It's about the right size, but it would knock K Mart right off the map in Meadville. When you think about it how many times do we patronize national chains? More often than we think I'll bet. BJ's is just a east coast operation for now, but will probably go national. Out west I had the opportunity to deal with more small businesses. Here not so much as I'm in a newly developed area and when houses get built the big players tend  to be able to respond first. Kinda sucks for the little guy.

BJ's would be good or Costco.  That way it can give the Sam's/Walmart company a run for their money.   I really like BJ's.

What's the deal with the wetlands behind the big ole mall?  That has been an issue all along hasn't it?  You know you can not wipe out wetlands.  If you destroy them in the process of building you have to create the same size wetland nearby....within a certain distance - they don't give you much wiggle room either.  An example is the swampy area between Home Depot and Ernst Trail as you enter from 322.  That is a redeveloped wetland area recreated when the original was destroyed when building Home Depot.  Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork.  Permits, permits, permits.

Lunatics walked amongst you all Sunday.

Actually the wife and I spent most of the day hopping around Meadville, Mercer County was boring us. It is funny that Mrs Peacock mentioned the parking lot at your local Walmart. I cant say I have ever experienced any that were quite this odd. I came to a complete stop at one point wondering where I should be going.

Don't know what the revamping involved, but I think you good folks got short changed......

Great day though. Had fun.

It's good to see that SOMEONE is investing in the area! Look at the difference in activity: Even though we are in a "supposed" economic slump, CLP is moving along, and the Mall is getting rebuilt!
