Ralph Bakshi (of Fritz the Cat fame) did a rotoscope animations film of LOTR but never finished it. They went to the end of the first book I believe. The Hobbit was a Rankin/Bass made for TV cartoon movie with Orson Bean as Bilbo and John Huston as Gandalf. (All this from my memory mind you ... for I am a nerd on many levels.)

So - you probably saw the Bakshi film back in the day.

You are a mnemonic GOD!!!!!
I was mixing the two together. The made for TV Hobbit cartoon was the one with the poor fight scenes but it did go to completion. The Bakshi film went halfway through the Two Towers and never finished. There apparently was a Return of the King cartoon voiced by many of the same actors for the cartoon Hobbit according to my perusal of Amazon.com

My personal feelings are that Sharpton is only interested in promoting Sharpton. He just does it wrapped in a blanket of emotion that appeals to a significant audience.

I agree with that synopsis. I just wonder every time I see his big fat mouth on the boob tube why someone gave him the air time! Why does what he has to say matter on every single issue?  Where in the heck did he come from anyway?  He just rubs me the wrong way.

He's a pundit. You know - like those people on Worlld's Dumbest or something. Remember how he "came to fame"? Tawana Brawley. He used to hang out on Morton Downey's show too if I'm not mistaken. Yet - despite his - his - whatever the hell that is - he's still around and people seek him out. Maybe it's the hair. It's like a cross between Don King and Ann Landers.

I believe he started off as a tour manager for James Brown or something like that.
