So much going on here in Greenville that fails to be reported.

Unbelievable (No..not Really around here) that a  thief would risk a manslaughter charge for a little bit of gasoline. Either the thief was:

a. Totally wacked out on something (maybe inhaled too much gas fumes prior to discovery).
b.  A true creature of Id.
c.  A mental midget ( Oh, how I hate to use an LBF term!)
d.  ALL OF THE ABOVE.

The alternative is that there may be more to the story than appears.

Scary though.

I don't think I will be going out of my house anytime soon in the middle of the night to "check on things". Let em vandalise away!(and boy there is alot of it going on ALL over town as of late)

Well at least until they catch this he/she/it that did it.

Oh wow, he finally changed his site. I was going to use some of his feeds on the main page but at the time they were a mess. Looks like they are all cleaned up now. He seems very plugged into the community down there.

He seems very plugged into the community down there.

The only thing that dude's plugged into is his 56K modem, which he uses to copy and paste stuff from any real news organization he can steal from in a 75-mile radius.

His "scoop" at http://www.mygtv.net/?p=24234 is merely what WYTV and WKBN posted on their sites, only he pretends the authorities talked to his "staff". (He would have had an even better story if the Argus had a website.)

site is blocked already. too bad he wasn't reported by the isp before he killed someone.

yea, it's big brother but sometimes you need your big brother to put a whoopin' on ya when you're an idiot. sys admins need to a little policing on these sites, just like heymartha when people ignored the terms of use.

Too bad he didn't shoot himself first. what a self absorbed nimrod.

I work at a gym and am paranoid something like this will happen. At my church too. That's why I am contemplating a LEGAL conceal/carry. I can use barbells and weights but if he's got a gun I'm just delaying the inevitable.

The people wworking at that gym probably barely get minimum wage and have to try to deal with stuff like this. It's tough.

I got into this and read it. Amazing no one reported what he was up to.

As for the Mercer News aka mygtv.net, he made his last post. He is no longer in operation.

Almost sounds like they are trying to silence us all.

Almost sounds like they are trying to silence us all.

That was not a free press "voice" that was silenced, it was a ventriloquist who retired -- or more likely was sued out of business by another vaudevillian who caught him stealing their act.

Or did the power elite of greenville finally shut them down, using the alleged Egyptian purchaser as a front?

Hmmm, Jay, makes ya wonder.

All the guy had to do was buy a scanner and sit and listen, and he would have had plenty to write about in this town that the other papers don't seem to pick up on. Attend meetings at the school, borough, etc and then wrote his editorials.

He was more than outspoken about the borough council and the G'ville school district and didn't hesitate to write what he felt. Do they deserve the blasting he gave him? In my opinion, ABSOLUTELY. Did they feel they deserved it?  I say ask their attorney, lol.

I think you might be on to something, I am thinking he was silenced. If not, he would have gone back to just writing his "mercer news blog" like the way he started in the first place.

yeah, the infrequent, original reporting on local matters served a respectable purpose.
