Interesting lot for sale
« on: August 05, 2009, 10:09:33 AM »
I thought this was interesting, but then again, I'm kind of a nerd.  ;)

While looking through local real estate listings, I noticed that this lot at the corner of Bluff St. and Hall/Ridge Ave. is listed for sale.  It's located in the thin strip of Hermitage that separates North Sharon and Sharpsville (the strip eventually widens and becomes Patagonia).  If someone purchases the lot and builds a house on it, his/her closest neighbor to the south will be in Sharon and closest neighbor to the north will be in Sharpsville.  Also, if said family includes school-age children, Hermitage will apparently have to send a bus through either Sharon or Sharpsville just to serve that single house.

Anybody interested in the lot yet?  :D

I'd like living there just for the aggravation to the authorities factor!

I have to laugh at the little things in our valley.

Sharon doesn't touch Sharpsville anywhere....

Sharon can't bury their dead within the boundaries of the city.... because the only cemetery we had on the West Hill was removed at the request of a Doctor who lived there (from what I have come to understand). The office for Oakwood Cemetery is in Sharon.... the Cemetery itself... Hermitage.

Sharon is responsible for some of the Drainage and Sewers in Hermitage.... They are located in Buhl Park. ( as per a city employee)

Now I have to wonder about this patch of land... You pay Herm Taxes but have to rely on... POLICE, FIRE, and SCHOOL as well as Code issues from whom??? What else is there???

Sharon provides sewer service to a pretty decent-sized chunk of Hermitage (Patagonia, Buhl Park, etc.), as well as to parts of South Py.  (Why Sharon never annexed those areas when it was legal to do so is beyond me.)  There's even talk of a development in Trumbull County tapping into Sharon's new plant as well.

Apparently the lot on Bluff will receive Sharon sewer service but I'm guessing that all other services will come from Hermitage.  Cool, huh?

i think much of that odd sewer service is required by circumstances of geography and gravity.
