Gallon jugs of OJ on sale at Giant Eagle this week. They can be frozen (but remove some from the top to accomodate expansion)

Free e-books!
« Reply #136 on: January 13, 2011, 07:18:17 PM »
Yes, free edumakayshunal ebooks until January 17. No kidding. Check the list here

I haven't tried any of the titles before but Kaplan (which provides test prep services as well as college-level instruction) is giving away 130 e-books, I suspect as teasers or loss-leaders for their content and services.

A few examples:

Kaplan 101 Algebra Practice Questions
Math for Moms and Dads
Sharp Grammar
Get Into Graduate School
Kaplan Portable GMAT
Memorable Thoughts of Socrates

Content is for Kindle, Apple devices, Nook and Sony.

The Kindle reader for the PC is free as long as you have amazon account and you'll need the amazon account before you can download anything.

So anyhow, if the list looks good, get them ffree until January 17th.

I will be checking that out NP, since I have a (very active, lol) Amazon account. No Kindle, currently, but if I'm able to at least download the ebook, and use the PC app, that's the next best thing! Thanks!

I bought my wife a Kindle II for Christmas a couple of years ago and she has had nothing but rave reviews about it. For those of us that don't have a kindle, here's how to get the kindle application for your system.

All accurate, Ko-Shin. But it reminded me I forgot to buy bar soap at the store today!!

I saved about $35 at Iggle today with my 6% food perks, Advantage card savings and now have over $2.50 in fuel perks to spend. It was a big order but found some good deals and I'm happy.

Anyone need 14inch tires? We have  Some really nice snow tires that were only used for 1 and a half winters, they  are Michelin X-ice, and then a pair of regular tires that are in good shape as  well that are Pirelli standard class.  Four of each. Trust me, you can go anywhere in a small  front wheel drive car with those Michelin winter tires. I did, in the Neon  (RIP). Never got stuck, never slid.  And unknowingly drove on 198 when it was unplowed.... (Anakin would not let me drive after my recovery until he put 4 of the best snow tires we could afford on the car...)  Send me a personal message if you are interested.

Polished knobs, Schweddy Balls, giant posteriors . . . seems things are in a bit of an intellectual slump around here.

Dollar stores are popping up at alarming rates in the south. I don't go in them because of the reasons stated in the article - shoddy quality. We buy a lot of the target "up and up" products and have found them to be as good and sometimes better than the name brand items. And... about 99% of them are American made. It's a win-win for us.

We have a Dollar Tree and I go there for party supplies now and again.  They have the colored and printed plated, cups, forks, napkins and stuff all for a buck a package.  Packages have same count and size as anywhere else but way cheaper.  It's a throw-a-way item.
