Hello Folks! Nice to see everyone found this site. I thought the Press supported Freedom of Speech? I guess not the Meadville Tribune. Anyway a Bloggers cruise is welcome for Pumpkinfest, just let us know! It will be nice to see you all.

Looks like this will be the "official CLP topic" so I'll dump my little opinion commentary regarding the Hey Martha Forums here ~for safe keeping.

Cross Posted from the "Disconnecting from the Pipeline" topic:

That forum helped bring about true change in the life of Conneaut Lake Park during a time when the land was about to be sold off, and "someone" was about to line their pockets with some of the proceeds, or a few lakefront condos of their own to use and enjoy at their leisure.

Because of the Trib forum, I believe that people were able to unite, and let their voices be heard loud and clear. Because of the unity, the care and arguments, and combined effort of all that participated, the Park came alive again this year for all to enjoy.

It's a shame to see it go under, as a newspaper has a responsibility to be the voice for the people, not through forums, but by printing facts and news, and unbiased opinions. The Trib fell short of that and took some hard (and well deserved) criticisms from "us" as well.

It's like "Letters to the Editor" amplified, 24 hours a day, for anyone with a computer to see, without being chopped up and censored by those who want to control what you think.

Through the forum, people heard not just what the Trib wanted to report, but they heard the truth from collective witnesses and local people without an "agenda". The secrets were revealed, the truth was laid out in front of the public, and at one time, even the feds were called in to help.

I'd say that the Hey Martha Forums were a blessing when we needed them, and I am afraid that the voices of the people will be stifled through lawyers and law suits, and regulating the internet as we know it, eventually.

Someday people will stand up and say "enough" of this constant eroding of our freedom.

I emailed the webmaster and asked to have the CLP Report saved, archived, whatever. Wonder what the reply will be.

Hey all

We are putting together an Enthusiast event on Sept 19th at Conneaut Lake Park. The point of the event is to try and raise money for the Blue Streak and all money raised will go to it.

All CLP Junction Members are invited to attened.

We are still working out main details for the event but some perks include but not limited to -

Blue Streak walk back and behind the scenes tour
Silent Auction
Attendees can ride the Little Dipper
Possible Mini Golf Challange
Possible ERT
Possible Blue Streak Party (on station)

The Price for this event will be around $11 which will all go towards getting the Blue Streak back in operation.

Thank You

Hope to see you all there!

My first post.  Trying to ensure that I stay connected to the former HM thread on the new home @ eeticket.  Much has to be said and already has been about the value and importance of a public forum to air the truth.  Over the past year or two I have been following the CLP report and found it to be a great source of information.  I plan on being an active part of this forum if I have anything of value to impart to the group.  I will be looking for all the regular names as I learn how to use this site.  Weather look great for a fantastic long week end at the park.  I will be there.

Hi!

I'm still around.  I posted on the other thread ("CLP") accidentally and meant to post on this one.  I have a bunch of stuff that I sent someone from the old thread and have more somewhere if it can be used.

I hope to be able to make it over there before the year is over to see the park and ride my beloved Tumble Bug - well not mine, coz it really belongs to the citizens of NW PA which I am not, but I couldn't love it more if I really was the owner.

I hope Wanda is ok.  I sent her an email when I learned about her restaurant closing but I did not hear back, which is kind of unusual because any email I've ever sent her over the years has always elicited a newsy response.  Should I be able to get over there, where is there over there to get good food?   It's going to be hard to come over there and not eat at the PnP (or go to Value City for that matter but I've been dealing with that for longer).  The Park doesn't say what they have for concessions, the Beach Club menu I'm not sure about, I'm mostly steak and potato at this point, maybe a salad, simple food not too much fried.  Any good recommendations?

PK_OH has provided me with updates (which I have not had time to look at yet) but they are incomplete. Given the right data I can reassemble the thread, though it won't quite have the same look and feel as a normal post.

Here I am gang.  As Commander Adama, of the BattleStar Galactica would say, "We made the "jump", with few losses"!  "Some of the "stragglers" will find our coordinates and rejoin the group".   :)  PK,  Are you and hubby going to try to make Pumpkinfest?  I called the Hotel today and talked to Greg, and made my reservations for my usual room for that weekend.  Greg told me that the "stop construction" order had to do with the construction of the condo units he is putting in the lower level, due to a holdup on some permits or something like that.  He said that construction will resume soon.

I am planning on some appetizers for the pumpkinfest cruise.  Been playing with sundried tomatoes and basil.  Look forward to it.  Hope we have as nice weather as last year.
