If I had any input, I would invite you all back with NO charge to you or your Cars, and let you have the coolers.  I would have an "oldies" DJ spinning the tunes on stage and I would have the beer flowing at the Stage area, for purchase like they used to. (if they have a license to do it in that area)  We who look at the cars would buy beer there, and some of you would spend some money at the Park also.  At least for the major summer Holiday Weekends, this would be nice.    I guess this is too practical to work!  ???

"since there attendence and $$ went down hill in 2010 and 2011..."

Oh, how not true.  They had more weddings and events the last two years they knew what to do with, sometimes two in one weekend.  That's why they fixed up the dockside for some of the overflow.  When was the last time they had that?  If only the rides could make the turnaround as well.

Ummm weddings are not public functions....invitation only..

True, but the beach club and hotel restaurant including entertainment are open to the public.  It seems free admission and paying for a band and not having enough people patronizing the establishment does not pay the bills so they need and do look to find something that does.  Yes I agree it would be nice for everyone to get in for free, bring in all the food and drink that they want, listen to the bands and entertainment that someone else paid for, use clean restroom facilities and put minimal back in support but the reality is it can not last forever.  It does not work at any other venue and it has not worked at CLP.  Free does not pay the bills , just like you cannot bring a beer into a restaurant just because you do not want to pay $3 for their offering.  Why is CLP any different?  I support the park because it ultimately benefits the community, employs locals and brings needed money to the area and it is a place to be entertained at a reasonable price.  Is it perfect, no.  Does it have potential and has recently shown progress, yes.

Well yes the Beach Club and Down Under Bar does attract a lot of people but if I recall when the "CAR PEOPLE" ;D have there cars on the Free Act lawn, like on Memorial Day. 4th July weekend and labor Day weekend it would be safe to say that the Free Act lawn is full of spectators along with the "CAR PEOPLE" which in turn ends up patronizing the Beach Club spending money on food and I have seen this. Take away the "CAR PEOPLE" and the people dont show up therefore the Park makes no money and they dont seem to understand why... DAH.... :o  I have heard about the Parks attendance during the summer Holidays the last 2 years and heard that the attendance was way down, now I wonder why that is. Without going into detail I have a pretty good idea. 2009 Memorial Day weekend had a very good turnout Why? Well go back and re-read the beginning of this post....The 1st part of Labor Day 2009  was pretty good also until the "CAR PEOPLE" were asked to leave in place of the bikers on Sunday morning. This upset an awful lot of out of town CAR PEOPLE who traveled for this event and had to leave and the ones coming to the event was denied enterance into the park with there CARS... These folks have told me personally that they will NEVER attended anything CLP puts on and I can assure you that you will not see my CAR there either  ;) ....  Shame Shame Shame.. CLP...

Interesting observation on attendance.  I wonder why then the revenue and profits were higher in 2010 and 2011 than 2009?  Must have been those Hotel ghosts that spend all their money while you weren't looking. ;D

‘Classic Cars’ shown off in a ‘Classic Park’ should not be that difficult to accommodate. In some circles, the two would attract each other naturally.

They should have more in common than not. Checking picnic baskets or coolers seems awkward too, considering it’s a picnic joint. Even the big parks don’t do that.

Did the trust get their share of the higher profits?

Maybe the park should apply for a grant for TSA to provide security?

Bush Gardens inspects everything right down to looking in purses. The do it quickly though. Usually no more than 15-20 seconds delay going through security. They profile too (I asked)
