Lock, I may be wrong, but the first Friday didn't include the water park, but the second one did....I wasn't there for the second one, but the first one had a pretty good crowd...

The weather was a dissappointing factor for everyone this summer.
The Friday Frenzy  kinda bombed out I think with the price changes. One Friday it was $10.00 a carload or $3.00 a person. the next week it was $15.00 a carload or $5.00 a person. Come on, people are not stupid. They notice these changes from one week to the next and think, OH! They got me last week but they want to get me harder this week. Guess what kids. We are not going to the park this week. We will go to a movie instead or somewhere else. Many lessons yet to be learned!   ::)
Well after the episode this past weekend during the Do-Whop the park WILL NOT see any more of my money or my car....EVER...If they dont appreciate us I am not going to support them...

Realistically I think it will be tough to stay in business either way if they need to charge this low in the first place with all the employees to pay let alone insurance, maintenance etc.  That is my ongoing concern.  Bottom line they need people coming in and spending MONEY for both Park Rest. and Lisko to continue.

Yes Ami  but I havent got all the facts together yet on exactly what happened on Sunday about 1:00 PM when some bikers pulled in during OUR DO-WHOP Car Cruise-in weekend saying that they have the Free Act Lawn on Sundays and we had to move our cars NOW or else and this cause the Do-Whop to shutdown 4 hrs early...

I'm with ya on this one Gator. Both the Do-Whop's were set up for the old cars only! (get it?) Do-Whop is staged for the 50's & 60'S lifestyle that has nothing to do with motorcycles.
So ya think people don't come to see the cars? Better look again before it is too late! It was an agreement between Classic Iron and the trustees board to to have it set up this way. Come on Trustees! Get some balls and straighten this out now before all the wheels fall off for ya.   >:(

My husband's quote from GoErie....

"Frank Jones, owner of the Dry Dock Bar & Grill near the park, said the facility had no effect on his business. He said this has been the worst summer he has ever had, and blamed it on bad weather, the economy and fewer area attractions."

Jimmy T .... if you are confused about my husband's statement .... why don't you stop over to the bar .... I'm sure he would be more than happy to explain it to you.

That's pretty much all I have to say about that.

Honestly, I was hoping all of the pettiness would stop once this thread crossed over from the Trib. This is a peaceful forum and we all get along .... please do your best to follow suit.

MsPeacock: Kudos to you & your husband for taking a realistic look at the stresses on your business. Even if CLP did have some effect on your business, it is prudent to look at the big picture.

It sounds like y'all are going to do well over the long term.

Please remember it's not enough for Lisko LLC or Park Restoration LLC to make money, the Park needs to make enough to not only meet current obligations, but address past debt as well. I have nothing against either group and have no involvement with either group. I've met many of them and spoken to them several times. I wish both groups the best of luck and financial success.

I do agree with that and I as well have no financial involvement with either but hope for their success for the Park's sake.

I hope this one (or two) incidents do not spoil your support for both of you as the park works thru it's growing pains.

New near-season end Park hours are now listed on the website.

I hope there's not a "Rumble" between the cars and bikes.
But...That could be a main attraction of it's own, with competetions and games between the two.

Make lemonaid (and money) with the lemons, guys.

SJL, get ahold of a product called (la's totally) "Awesome" found at the Family Dollar Store.
It works wonders on my carpets. It's far better than any other commercial carpet cleaner that I've used.  IC2ITUC, thanks for cleaning the bricks. They really look good along the pathway leading to the railroad.  I check out my brick everytime I go to CLP.

Thanks so much for the tip - it's often so damp out at the lake, the mold gets carried away.   :)

MsPeacock,
Maybe you should look at your typical customers as a reason for your downturn. I don't think anyone needs to go talk to Frank for an explanation - (what ever that means.)

-Maybe the additional DUI checkpoints??
-The cost of gas - your customers don't seem to be doing their usual weekend burnouts in the middle of the street at 2 am??
- The local competition might be better? - Walts / Palms / Lake house / CLPVFD / The Beach Club??

What ever it is don't take it out on Jimmy!

What pettiness are you talking about???

Are we done with our side trip yet? I hope so. I intervene rarely as you all stay pretty well behaved. Feisty is fine, but let's not venture into the ugly realm of making this a personalized topic, it's not.

Let's keep it that way.
