Sorry this isn't about Conneaut Lake - but I am desperate.  Need habaneros.  Anyone have some.  I had so many last year that I froze them - made salsa with them and they lost their heat by freezing.  Who would have know.  I have buckets of tomatoes ready for salsa but no habaneros.  Please let me know if you have any.  I can mention that I love Conneaut Lake if it helps with this thread.
Thanks,
Janet

Janet, I grew up on a farm, and this is embarrassing, but what is a
habaneros?  Maybe the market house in Meadville might sell them, or
even Al's Melons would be closer for you.  I have never made salsa,
but we make picalilly, and the cucumbers are really hard to find this
year.  I can't eat alot of spicy food, which is probably the end result
of your salsa, but it sounds interesting.  Good luck in finding them.

A habanero is pretty much the hottest pepper available. They're yummy! There is also a genetically engineered form of the habanero that is much hotter and then there's the tepin pepper which is extreme. Habaneros grow abundantly, but they charge and arm and a leg for them at the stores.

My wife just made salsa this week with home grown habaneros and tomatoes, very hot.  I can eat a little at a time, but the wife and kids finished it in a day.

I got the habaneros off a friend, don't know how many he has left but I can try and get some for you if you would like.  Maybe trade for a few tomatoes.  Give me an email at rsmith@navarrains.com, and let me know how many you are looking for.  This is my work email, wil be here until 4:00 and then heading to conneaut lake.

Back on topic,  the blue streak is open!!  Better bring some extra cash for the kids this weekend.

Still trying to figure out how to attach former post.  Any way, my post was to you Janet.

Pest.  Nice hangin out a couple weeks ago.    Didn't make it to the pig roast the following weekend or win a gun.  Try again next time.

Forecast doesn't look to promising for the weekend. Will probably be at the park fire hall a couple times.  Maybe see you there.  Maybe the wife can beat up the ticket machine again. LOL

Your Welcome.

I bought some inferno's from Al's Mellons last week.  There are pretty hot also, I bet they will make for a good salsa.

My wife eats those and habanero's like they are pickles.  She even ate one of the ghost peppers :o   Don't know how she does it.  Must be an Italian thing  :D

With my Dad being Polish, he loved pickled pigs feet, blood pudding, and
all of that stuff that they grew up on, and I threw up on!  The only peppers he grew were the green peppers, and probably some hot peppers,
but at least you taught me something new to look for in the future.
Good luck with your recipe.

Isn't today the day the Blue Streak is scheduled to debut?  Lets all keep
our fingers crossed that every little bug has been worked out and it brings
in lots of money this weekend.

just left there...it's up and running....the insurance inspector was there yesterday, the state inspector today....not a lot of people, but a crew from ACE was there, and the news media, plus it's early yet, and the news is just hitting the wire....even though it looked good for a go, they were trying to stay under the radar until all the required inspections were complete....Carol, sorry about your pants, I didn't have quite enough hose to reach the last car....I never figured you for a back seat girl anyhow ?!?!?! ;)

I was up there with my ACE buddies and had the first ride before the park opened at 4:00 PM. She still kicks like a mule and lets you know that she means business.  What a ride! I'm sure she needs a little more time to break in.  What a terrific job Structural Technologies did in getting her ready. The curve is much smoother.  I hear there was a crowd of people cheering her on outside the campground when she leaped out of the gate on her maiden voyage. Congratulations to all who made this possible. I'll post some pictures later.

ZIP,  I would guess that some of the 1st riders would be some of the Trustees if they could make it.  I just presumed this from JIMMY t's comment about Carol.  Carol West was my 1st thought when he said the name.  I may be wrong though.  By the way, I liked your piece in the Tribune about the preformers at the Fair.  I forgot that you lived in Guys Mills.  I don't know if I ever asked you if you know my aunt Billie and uncle Neal (just passed over recently) Lang, and my cousin John Lang and his wife Donna.  They live on Oil Creek Road.   You don't have to answer here on the thread.  Let me know the next time I see you.  There is a good chance that I can make Pumpkinfest, but not 100% sure yet.
