Did his ticket start with 666....and the point of it being on a ride that hasn't been open in 4 years, as if that was a sign of bad luck?

SAVE CLP,  If you hit the pause button when he is showing his ticket, you will see that the 1st 3 digits of his ticket are 656.  The two women's tickets do not come into focus so I don't know what the guy is talking about.  Maybe he had some "liquid courage" prior to the ride (like I might have to!  ;D ), and his thought processes are not matching the physical reality!   :gulp:   ;D   ???

JIMMY t,  My friend, you may need your reading glasses updated or all those lipids may be causing pre-cataract lens changes! (they really can!)   ;D   It's either that OR this eye/vision doctor had better recheck his Vision status!  :eyebrow:

I just voted for the Historical Society on the Pepsi Challenge and they went from the low 80s yesterday to #350 today!  Maybe something got fouled up with their computer system or their horse broke a leg!   ::)

There is a really great ad in today's Meadville Tribune that should bring tons of people to the park next weekend.

                         OKTOBERFEST - SEPT. 18TH & 19TH 2010
                                     NOON TO 8:00 P.M.

SUPER "low" END OF THE SEASON" admission prices
DANCE, RIDE, EAT, DRINK all day and night till
                              8:00 PM . $7.00
(Blue Streak Rides, not included, $3.00 extra)

It features Polka music and dancing, micro breweries,
                         ethnic & festival food.

The area restaurants might as well take the weekend off, if everyone can
go eat and drink all day for $7.00.  See you there!!!

THey really are going to pay for food???  I'm thinking it is: Get in for $7 and ride and have access to the food vendors... but I could be wrong.  Seven bucks for food, drink, rides all day.. does not seem profitable.

It doesn't make sense and I would think they just meant the rides, but if the ad is worded just like PnP typed it in then someone could very well infer that food & drink is included.

It sounds great.  I would try to make it there if it weren't for our group giving the "Beer on the beach and pig roast" next weekend at Dewey.  (I don't eat the pig meat!) but I contribute the wood for the bonfire on the beach and a BIG pot of Vegetarian Baked Beans.  Each year most everyone raves about my beans and the pot is always empty.  If I can get my room at the Hotel (I'll call them tomorrow), I'll be up for Pumpkinfest.  I may be back in your area the last weekend in September for Edinboro's Homecoming. I would really like to go to the football game there and see how the "Boro's" team is, this year.  The Fall has SO many events everywhere, that it is difficult to priortise them!   :)

spent this past weekend at a "sister's weekend"  my sisters and I drove down to virginia (two of them) and met my sister who lives in south carolina at virginia.  it is kind of a half way point.  didn't say anything ahead of time because of being careful (they tell you not to advertise your plans).  Anyways, we had a wonderful time.  One of the things we talked about is that if we have a gathering of the bloggers maybe we need to reserve a table at the Beach Club during Pumpkin Fest and it might be better than having someone missing the launch of the Kaylee Belle. Let me know what you think.  It would be fun to see everyone.

Hi PK:  I took it right from the ad that is in today's paper.  It will be great
having Polka music back at the park like the old days.  If anyone knows
how to scan the ad on here, it would show everyone what all is included.
They are having a Car Cruise featuring the Dorals Band, and that is the
same band we had last Sunday nite here at the campground, they are
really great!   The ad says Micro Breweries, Ethnic & Festival Food.  I
myself want to see how they cook for thousands of people at this price.

Ya know, looking at this ad, it says "oktoberfest" above the park emblem.
But, the date is Sept. 18 & 19, and it features "Polish" music and food.
PK, you and I are of polish decent, but this ad is really in the paper, and
as big as the ad is, it had to cost some big bucks.  I am not kidding about
this ad, if anyone is reading that into my being polish statement.  Maybe
the Park is throwing a nice party for everyone who helped support them
this summer.  Bet we will have half of Pittsburgh up here, as next weekend
is also the Waterfoul Festival in Linesville.

I believe this is sponsored by the Park Restoration group, and I'm fairly certain food and drink are NOT included in the admission price.

You and I both are smart enough to realize that.  However, it is going to be a nightmare for everyone if the ad is not changed, and an explanation
with it.  When we read that people turned back when they had to pay a
measly $3.00 to park, what in the hell is going to happen when they come
for $7.00 for eight hours of what sounds like a really great event.

This may be an advertising lay-out problem by putting the $7.00 in the
wrong location in the ad, but somebody needs to get the right info. out
soon, and often, and also explain that it was a human mistake, and that
we all make mistakes.  Darby, I know who you are, and you and I would
not hold them to this price, but there are alot of people that would be
nasty enough to bring the ad, and hold them to what the ad reflects.
That is why we see so many ad corrections in blocks in the days following
a pricing error.
