By ANDY ALM

An Erie man is charged  after allegedly attacking people at Conneaut Lake Park.  State police say Amjad Abbas Al-Quraishi brandished a pistol and struck Matthew McEhaney in the head, along with multiple other victims, whose names are not known.

The alleged incident took place October 30th at 9:40pm during the park’s “Ghost Lake” festivities.

Police say the altercation stemmed from McElhaney asking Al-Quraishi’s girlfriend and younger sister “where the last house on the left is.”  Police say Al-Quraishi had a concealed carry permit.

Al-Quraishi was arraigned in front of MDJ Chisholm and jailed at the Crawford County Prison on 10-thousand dollars bond on charges of Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats, Harassment and Disorderly Conduct.

Never saw this report in the Tribune but did see it in the Erie Times.

Figures! ::)

He will lose his CC permit.  Jimmy t, I don't think I sent you an e mail.  Someone highjacked my email list and is sending people on it Viagra info and other crap.  ( I have no need for Viagra  ;D ) This type of highjack has been going on for awhile.  A number of my friends have had the same thing happen long before they hit me..  It is a VERY LOW SOUL who uses the internet like this.  They will reap many bad things in their life for their deeds.   Everyone have a good Thanksgiving.  I'll be up your way to be with relatives thursday.

Chances are The are just using your name and/or reply to address and don't realy have access totheserver you use. It's a simple trick that's as easy as addressing an envelope eth someone elses return address. Still it's dieheartening to have someone you know send you an email asking why you are selling "X" or padering something-or-other.

Yes he will lose his CCW for sure. It's not a difficult permit to get and not a difficult one to lose.

I didn't want to post the actual menu here because it's a large JPG so everyone can read it. Just click the link above.

I thought some of the railroad guys would appreciate the following picture.  Apparently it's the only B&LE passenger car left.  These were the cars I road to Conneaut Lake Park many moons ago.  I'll have more to say about this car later.  It now sits at the Illinois Railroad Museum.

Title:
B&LE 25
Description:
Built by 1925 by Pressed Steel Car Company. The following is from a display on the car: A combine (short for combination) provides both passenger seating and space for baggage or express freight. The B&LE operated a 160-mile north-south route between Bessemer (near Pittsburgh) and Erie, Pennsylvania. Most of B&LEs traffic was ore, steel and heavy freight for its owner, U.S. Steel, with only limited passenger service. B&LE had less than two dozen modern steel cars in its passenger fleet. Combine 25 was one of the last two cars still in service when B&LE ended passenger operations in the late 1950s. The car was sold to the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern in 1960, which removed most of its seats and baggage racks and used it as a tool car for its wreck train. EJ&E donated the car to IRM in 1984. Restoration began in 1986, and the car returned to service at IRM in 1996.

Just a quick question.....does anyone know anything about the "ice racing" that is supposed to be on Conneaut Lake? I was in Linesville yesterday and just caught the end of a radio commercial that was talking about it. I thought they said it started Jan 14 but that looks to be pretty much out of the question with this weather we are having. Just wondered if any of you guys may have some details on this as I would like to get over there to see it, whenever it may happen.

Hope everyone had a great holiday season!! and I am loving this spring weather!

Was up there today helping a budy with his cottage. Like the idea of racing on the lake but the weather did not cooperate this year, hopefully they will try again later in Feb or March. Was suprised to see how much of the boardwalk is to be replaced this year, it looks like Greg and Steve will have completed over 3/4 of this project by this spring. If you haven't purchased a board you might miss out. There was an event today involving sales and swaps of snowmobiles, atvs and other motorsports equipment that looked like was fairly well attended but I saw three out of five cars in front of me at the entrence turn around once they were asked for a entrance fee. Who the hell comes up with the idea of entrence fees for these events? They are killing any good will that this park is trying to establish. Does anyone know if it is the trustees or Steve and Greg?

If there isn't any extended cold weather there won't even be any ice. At the moment it sounds like it's going to have to be sail boat racing.
