Paul Krugman and Keynesian principles . . . not too smart: (From 2002)
"To fight this recession the Fed needs more than a snapback; it needs soaring household spending to offset moribund business investment. And to do that..Greenspan needs to create a housing bubble to replace the Nasdaq bubble."

The interesting part is the protesting proximity to government officials, known or unknown. By definition this means that people would have to assemble in the cornfields of Nebraska. Sadly this bill was sponsored by someone from Florida (A republican whose name escapes me now). Given the NDAA, Trespass Bill, ACTA,  DHS antics and some other minor pieces of legislation it's looking like the amendments are becoming rather moot one-by-one. Can I make a joke here about stocking up on ammo without getting in trouble?

Well, here's one DHS document on media monitoring.  I must say though that the document was written by a non-technical because the mistakenly referred a DDOS attack as a "Dedicated Denial Of Service" attack. The first D in DDOS actually stands or "Distributed". That kind of error is not exclusive the the government. Tech Writers sometimes reword stuff so it sounds better and invalidate the whole meaning by doing so. Anyhow, enjoy...

Reason Magazine's take on HR 347.

The bill makes it illegal knowingly to enter or remain in a restricted building or grounds without legal authority to do so.  A restricted building or grounds is defined as a “restricted area” where a person protected by the Secret Service “is or will be temporarily visiting.”  According to federal law (18 U.S.C. § 3056), the Secret Service is authorized to protect “visiting heads of foreign states or foreign governments” and “other distinguished foreign visitors to the United States.” So, let’s say a G-20 meeting is hosted in the U.S. and the Secret Service decides it wants a larger perimeter surrounding the event where only G-20 members and staff can be.  A person could be arrested and found guilty of violating this law—with up to 10 years in prison if they’re carrying a weapon, one year in prison if they’re not—for merely walking into the restricted area, without even knowing walking into the area is illegal.

Just saw my doctor today, he indicated the new data was that health care (aka Obamacare) is going to cost twice as much as originally intended. Nice eh?

the article in the Washington post indicated the rate of increase in the cost of healthcare will consume the average family's entire paycheck. It also said that Obamacare would not solve the problem without significant additional cost reforms.

And yet we continue to put our faith in a strong centralized government.

I am paying $310/month for the family through my employer.  It goes up every year.  When I first started there I was paying $92 for a family of 5.
