Great uplifting stories JANET and ZIP.  ZIPPER, I just read your story and it brought tears to my eyes.  I'm here at the mountain bunker and married friends of mine at the beach, are staying with me with one of their young sons.  They also brought their yellow lab "K D" (for Kool Dog), who used to join we "Hashers" on our runs at the beach.  She made herself comfortable by plopping herself on my favorite part of the couch.  She is so adorable I didn't want to move her.  We have had some quality time together when her human family was out skiing.  I'm going to miss her when she leaves today.  So far, my 7 Springs girlfriend Cupcake, hasn't caught me "two timing" her, but we guys know that the female gender eventually "catch us" cheating no matter what their species.   ;D

Yes, nice "kids" Ami.
My two are getting along fine. They play king of the mountain at the top of the deck steps. I have to keep an eye on them because the furry one can stay out longer without getting cold, but Danes don't have a thick coat. If the fuzzball is at the top, he can keep the Dane from coming to the back door.

IC2ITUC ... yes, we usually have a way of knowing.

I dislike my new keyboard. It's not very sensitive. You almost have to pound on the keys or miss typing letters. I think I will have to clean up my old one and re-use it.

Zip, thanks for asking about me.  We are ok, things are hardest due to the health insurance issues.  Won't get into too much here - it is such a public forum, but as long as we have each other we will survive.  Again, thanks for asking.

I know so many are against the national health care plan, but there needs to be a safety net for things like losing a job and still being above the poverty level. I know in case of emergency you can go to the hospital, but maintaining pescriptions can kill your savings account fast.

No easy answers, that's for sure.

...and Pet Riders! You should be able to insure a pet exactly as you do any other dependent.

We were lucky to find the mom of the Yellow Lab. Such a sweet girl, she was. I really feel bad that we haven't found Scooter yet.

The Dane is doing well. He loves to play and eat, eat, eat! He's a big boy. 158 pounds before he came here.... this house has a way of packing on the pounds though. Something about the air... LOL Or maybe it's in the water.... or the spaghetti sauce.

Scooter needs meds for his seizures. He needs to be with someone who can help him with that.

Just brought Mike home from his declaw surgery.  Poor guy.  He has white paws and looks a mess.  Funny thing is he is walking on his stump leg all normal like.  I think he must have realized right away it didn't hurt to take a step on it like the others.  Awwwww.  And he's sooooo hungy.  He hasn't eaten in like 36 hours. I topped his fave off with some tuna.  They did all three and gave me the 25% discount btw.  :D  I told Mr.Who he had to be nice to himfor two whole weeks.  (He tortures this poor cat daily with his little "snap your neck" game) He huffed and said "How much nicer can I be?  I let him sleep with my wife every night!"

I REMEMBER LAST FALL WHEN I CUT MY FINGERS SO BAD. DOTTIE THOUGHT IF SHE LICKED THOSE BIG WHITE MICKEY MOUSE FINGERS  I HAD, (BIG BANDAGES), she would be able to heal my fingers. She wouldn't leave my side. She wouldn't even sleep in her own bed for several nights. She slept on the floor on my side of the bed. Bless her sweet natured little heart!   :-*
Please excuse caps. I didn't want to erase all that.  :)

They gave me four syringes of some stuff that should keep him down for the count for a couple more days....he hasn't been off my bed in several hours....just cleans his feet every now and then. They look better than they did this morning!
