...sounds win-win all the way around ;D .....

....back in the nuclear war fare career days, the special ops "plan" always floating around was to hand each gang-banger a quarter as they were pushed out the back of a C-5 on the end of a remote runway in Antarctica on a winter night....

....when the C-5 turned and took off on the runway, the bangers' attention was drawn to a small structure at the opposite end of the runway illuminated my a single light bulb....

....trudging the length of the runway, a small sign on the phone booth structure read-

....."Disintegration Booth; 25 cents"....

Dick cheney reminds me of one of my relatives that everybody knows and is a little intimidated by - cuz you know he's got some "connections" - but it's cool cuz he's my relative and it's good to know a guy with connections sometimes.

I am not sure if I should respond.  :D

We have 2 from the pound and couldn't be happier.  Will always go to the pound I think.  Not totally because we are saving a dog really - that's a bonus for sure - but I just don't understand paying hundreds of dollars for a pure breed when there are thousands of perfectly wonderful dogs sitting in pounds waiting for a good home.  One time we were visiting and a whole litter of labs had been delivered to be put up for adoption.  They went fast too.  We have seen a lot of pure breeds in there.  Beagles and what-not.  You'd be surprised.  My parents got a Jack Russell there.  They don't breed so they didn't care he had to be neutered.  You my be able to stop by and ask to be called if a certain kind of dog is brought in and go in and check it out.  Just a thought.  We made several visits and played in the yard with a hundred dogs before choosing a mutt that suited us.

Two of freakin' everything.   Don't I know that!  One horse,  two horses, three horses, four horses, ugh.  Then a dog.  Dog needs a friend.  Got a goat.  Goat needs a buddy.  I don't think goats need friends truth be told.   They will hang out and act like whatevers out in the pasture!  Funny stuff.   But dogs are meant to live in packs.  Even 2 is a pack.

The Crawford County Humane Society has both a whippet AND a black lab mix for adoption.   They used to post pictures of the dogs & cats, but there haven't been any new pictures posted for nearly 2 months.  You would think that pictures would help their chances for adoption.  The website is www.cchspets.org.

And then there's me... a mature, responsible, animal loving adult who could provide any one of the CCHS pets with a very nice home... not allowed to enter the CCHS property or be deemed a trespasser... OR report an incident of animal abuse to the one and only shelter in Crawford County PURPOSED to help domestic animals....(unless I write them a letter and subject myself to prosecution from the DA) .... who takes in donations from the public who believes that agency to be a rescue and shelter for abused, neglected or unwanted animals....

I see in the paper that absentee ballots saved the day for our intrepid (anti)hero.

Oh well. I guess he's just popular with some folks.

That's why he's "The Shiny One". Nothing sticks to that super-shiny shallow exterior surface.

And some people still prefer to stick their heads in the sand.
