Pest -

I dropped off 2 Scooter posters at the Humane Society this afternoon.   Their website has a page for pictures of lost pets, but they weren't sure if it's working.   One poster will be put up at the Humane Society & the other one will go to the person who updates their website to see if it can be added.   I told her that you were going to be in the hospital for a day or two so if Scooter comes in & they can't reach you they could call me & I could pick him up.  I hope that's okay.

I drove around looking for him today. I talked to a State trooper who said he would look while in the area.

I also talked to some neighbors, one down the road a ways who had two free-roaming dogs with him as he was getting some things from his car. He said strays usually end up there. I gave everyone a Dirty Dog Live business card to call me if they spot him. It was just easier than trying to write down your number on scraps of paper.

I also noticed a plain unmarked white van circling around. The guy was on the cell phone, so I am not sure what he was up to. The last I saw him he was parked at the entrance to the Park by the guard station, still talking on the phone.

I saw many tracks leading up to trees, and leading to many front doors of homes. I am not sure if they were Scooter tracks, but I did notice how many open accesses there are to under cottages, and garages or sheds. If he's going door-to-door he's looking for help too.

I left parts of BK Whoppers around (minus onions of course) and one big burger patty right by the driveway entrance to the Palms.

I drove across 618 and down a road that lead along the back side of the Blue Streak and into the park. It ended up by the back of the hotel. I did see some animal tracks that led along the berm of the road, and up to two rusty pontoon boats docked in a field, but I did not see Scooter. I left bits of Whopper buns there also.

Chili and Whoppers... goodness. The neighbors are going to think there's a new restaurant opening up in the neighborhood.

Sunflower:

As of right this minute, there is no posting ~or mention at all ~for Scooter on the CCHS "Pictures of Lost Pets" page. http://www.cchspets.org/lost.html

I have noticed their photos of adoptable dogs and cats haven't been working for some time.

The ad continues to run on the Community News website. http://www.communitynewslinesville.com/ I had a nice talk with their webmaster. Very nice guy.

I admire what you do and how you go about your business Zip. I recall someone on here posting that you get the leaders you elected: Someone up there keeps electing these bozos and that's the problem.

Wish I could absentee vote the bozos out...

Thanks, TiFeMb. I just try to do the right thing.

City Council is a publicly elected position. Director of the Humane Society is not. Being on the Board of Directors for Meadville Council on the Arts, I would believe that the CCHS Board would be responsible for who is the Director at the CCHS. If this is true, that does not speak well for any of them either.

Shiny is the Director, not the founder.

Here is an old article I found at the Crawford County Historical Society while doing a microfilm search. If you click here you can read it better...http://spottydawg.com/NewFiles/HS-Information800x.jpg

Yes, and it's breaking my heart to think he's out there in this snow. There's not that much food available for him to survive. Can you place signs near all of the stop signs in the area? I know the weather is bad, but if there was some way to staple them to cardboard, cover them in clear plastic, or laminate them, and then stake them into the ground in front of stop signs (but not covering the stop signs from view) because that's where everyone looks. More people in the area need to be on the lookout.

BTW Pest... Glad you checked out Ok. Once you have your knee surgery you will be laid up for quite a long time.

Can you dump a big bag of dry food near the Dry Dock and ask the owner to keep an eye on it? Maybe set up an automatic feeder with more food than he can eat in one visit, so it doesn't get ruined in the snow. Maybe some other critters will frequent it, but chances are if Scooter is nearby, he'll come around again and again.

We're supposed to get a lot of snow in the next day or two. I don't think I can make it out that way.

AS OF RIGHT THIS MINUTE...

Still no mention of Scooter on the Crawford County Humane Society's website under "Pictures of Lost Pets".  http://www.cchspets.org/lost.html

"This Service is provided free of charge. Our goal is to reunite lost pets with their owners."  ...so say they.

Their website apparently is working enough to add new dogs to the strays list. I see three listings updated from 12-30-09, and two dogs and a cat updated on their adoptables listings.... same day.
