Well, it's good you get up at all. I knew someone who had the same thing done. He sat in his easy chair all the time and ate. Gained a ton of weight while "recovering". Not good. You do need to get up but you also need help.

Does the nurse come every day? Did they offer meals on wheels or any kind of assistance with food prep and house care while you are recovering?

I'm posting this here for all to read, though I have mixed emotions about it.

I support no-kill shelters, but to be truly no-kill means that if an animal is violent, or unable to be rehabilitated and is unsafe to adopt, that animal will live it's life in solitary confinement or distanced from people until it's natural death. Basically this means a cage for it's natural life. This isn't always as bad as it sounds, many animals are not safe to be handled by people, and like a zoo environment, they can live in relative comfort as long as their comfort is a priority.

Just to clarify that, I really don't like zoos either, as I believe wild animals should be kept in the wild, not in man-made habitats so people can pay to see them. But that's just my opinion. I know most US zoo animals get excellent care, by well intentioned, loving and dedicated people.

It's a debate with no winners.

That said, this article is about natural death for terminally ill pets who have been abandoned by their owners. Having made the decision to euthanize my dogs and previously my cats, I would have to say that even though these wonderful people are making the pets comfortable until the last breath, I would still opt for an easy painless dignified death. I would opt for that for my own death, if it were made available to people.

Each individual must make a decision for their terminally ill pet, so I offer this article and link http://www.maxfund.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=4 about a shelter that offers hospice care, and to let people know it's out there.

At least he is eating! And it's great that someone is on the lookout for him out that way!

He's traveled quite far now to be over by Al's Melons.

$82 bucks later he likely has a UTI and is on abtibiotics for 14 days.  I didn't opt for a urinalysis.  Why are vets so expensive?

Not sure Why... ??? ...but they know that you will pay..We just got back from our vet's...our little girl had blood in Her urine...well $214.21 later...has an UTI....on antibotics...We need to find a new Vet...but hard our kids have been going to the same Vet's for 15 years...again like I said they know that we will pay... :) ... :'( ...
