You are fortunate. We nursed Kirby thru parvo back in September. I couldn't afford to leave her there so the vet was really good about giving her a bolus of fluid every day, and the anti-nausea and anti-diarrheal shots. Even sold me a bag of fluid and the shots for over the weekend if we needed it.  And she survived. We also forced pedialyte with a syringe from the vet.  It cost about $300.  "hospitalization" would have cost $750-1000. ( This was between Alaska and my battle with H1N1)  Humans can not get parvovirus. I think of parvo as being like one of the filo viruses - Marburg, Ebola, etc.

BTW, exposure of grass to sunlight will kill it outdoors. In the house - bleach.

About Scooter... I have no idea where to look. I don't know where he was last sighted, and all of my trips out there have been in vain. I don't know what else I can do, and not sure at this point if Pest wants him back.

From the author/filmer of the dog versus deer video. (which was awesome btw!)

My brother found this deer alone and malnourished when it was a tiny baby. My family bottle fed the baby, named Theen until he was eating grass. Several months later he's very socialized with people, our black lab, and our cats. He is free to wander if he likes and we've seen him with several herds of whitetail and axis deer. Apparently he fits in just fine with them. He frequently comes back to the house to eat some catfood and play with our dog, Buddy. He doesn't care much for deer corn.

Ellen Degeneres showed this video on her show and website on January 22, 2010!
Anderson Cooper 360 showed the video on March 30, 2010!
This was on the Bonnie Hunt show on March 31, 2010

lock, i have NEVER given up hope of finding him! the last i heard was the last sighting in february when he was seen on 618 wearing an orange collar. no other sightings have happened. i believe that someone took him in & has a strong chain to keep him in their yard. i would take him back if the family did't want him in a heartbeat!! but if he has a loving home, that would be great to know. that's the only thing that bothers me, not knowing......i always look for him, even looking in yards where there are dog houses to see if he is outside. no ALL of your efforts were not in vain! made me feel proud to know i have such good friends, some of whom i have never even met!! again thank you all for your efforts, time, and money.
