I wasn't all hell bent on this.  No biggie.  Would have been nice.
They are literally making up shit at work to give me hours.  For instance, this weekend I am going in to float between units for eight hours an do medicare billing on treatments then CLEAN WHEELCHAIRS!  Hose them and scrub them.  No shit  They actually hire an outside agency that goes around and does this at different facilities but are reverting to doing it ourselves as a money saving technique.  lol.  There is another girl who is getting her hours cut almost as bad as me who is all pissed about this wheelchair thing (normally she does 6a-6p then I relieve her for 6p-6a).  She stod there yelling "I didn't go to school to be degraded like this!  I'm not doing it!"  I told her to shut up and make sure you bring a putty knife......

Hey, gotta eat, right?  :)

Honestly, I'm not thrilled at the prospect either but you can't bitch they ain't givin' you hours and bitch when they make shit up just so you can work just cause you think you're too special to do it.  With census so low they are in a bad spot and don't have to give me this time so I'm gonna snag it up.  I bet she shows up with old shoes in hand.

CLW:

Gotta kep the good ones like you around so that when H1N1 hits there will be someone to take care of the patients.  My hospital is forecasting that as much as 40% of the caregivers may be down with H1N1 during the peak period(s).

Hang in there - as an Administrator I did bed pans during a nurse's strike a while back - if you understand who you are serving (the patients) any job can be rewarding..  Without good wheeled transportation how would the patients get around in comfort?  By cleaning them you will probably find that some need repaired, thus also protecting patient safety..

It's all related....

Thanks Dave.  That made it all the easier to go in and do it.  Really!  It is, indeed, all related.

She's back!  Well, in NJ.  That's good enough for me for now.

Just ordered the biggest, most beautiful floral arrangement to be delivered this afternoon.

Back to mowing.
How about this - I started mowing at like high noon today.  I have a pretty large piece to cut- and trim and whack.  It's so freaking perfect out I haven't even broke a sweat. I could mow all darnd day.  I love September in PA.  :D

Yesterday was National Cheeseburger day. I suspect the answer you are looking for has something to do with the following though.

Hmmm... kinda cool, I'm watching the Edinboro/Slimey Pebble game streaming on the net. The quality is awful, but I get to watch the game. :)

I thought not.... Ok folks here it goes...

Friday 18 Sep 09

The high side... The US Air Force Birthday... Happy Birthday Skeeter Wings...

Low side.... No one seems to even care it was Prisoner of War and Missing in Action (POW-MIA) Recognition Day. No one noticed that Federal Buildings are, by law, required to fly the POW-MIA Flag...even the White House and Post Offices. 6 Days a year were set aside for this Black and White flag to be flown... Friday being one. There are over 88,000 Service men and women missing in the last 60+ years.

So... no...it wasn't about Hamburgers and Communist flags.... It was about Human Beings and those Human Beings are Americans...

Meadville had a POW-MIA Vigil from Friday to Saturday.... Mercer County does theirs on the weekend closest to 27 Jan. ....the anniversary of the signing of the Paris Peace Accords in 1973. Mercer County has been doing this every year for over 25 years.

Mercer County still has one missing in Vietnam... Capt. Maurice Edwin Garrett from the West Middlesex/Mercer Area. Desert Storm may have hust got the remains back of Michael Speicher... jury is still out for now... We are still missing Altaie from Iraq and Bergdahl from Afghanistan. Someone has to remember. Our Government wants to bury them all.

Well, maybe next year ........

I am fairly certain I am dying of boredom.  I am considering rearranging the over-the-counter meds in the med cart and cleaning the treatment cart.  Ugh.  I would almost rather have someone peel my big toenail off.  Slowly even.

I participated in the POW MIA Ride for Freedom on Saturday and filmed it from the back of Mr. Zip's bike. He'll edit it soon and we'll post it on DirtyDogLive.com.

Last year's event is here:   http://www.dirtydoglive.com/powmiavideo_2008.html
