Hmmmm hands together for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The People sued the Cigarette manufacturers for MILLIONS and more. The money was meant to be used to further programs to help people off the tobacco product. Now, in their wisdom, $14,000,000.00 of that money has been cut loose to help..... balance the budget. Charges pending.
 
Hmmmm where did they learn that? ? ? Ahhhh yes... when those Banks are paying back the money from TARP and the money should go back to pay the debt of our nation.... OH NO!!  ... They are using it as a slush fund for BRAND NEW PROGRAMS. This should have been used to pay down our childrens impossible debt.... not finance another shakey at best program. And all of this WITHOUT any discussion of the Legislators and the proper channels. Amazing.

I look back and realize that less than 12,000 farmer/citizens fought and won against the Greatest Power the World had ever knew..... the Great British Empire. Sometimes it doesn't take many, just those who know how to do it.....

That is pretty much what the CSA was thinking in 1861. The rifled musket and 650,000 dead "farmer-citzens" later that thought process met with a sobering end.

I do not think that the average American today would put up with casualties on a grand scale to achieve an end. That would mean sacrifice of personal safety and comforts, not to mention having to TIVO "American Idol"...

I wish things were different Lifetime, but I do not believe we will see it.

Ok.... it is either "Mad Max" or "Wallee". If we had to choose? Personally I felt a need for "culling" even in our present society.... No more cradle to grave mentality unless there is a need or prior contribution. If things are to be rationed, then let it be to actual legal residents.
 
We find this type of mentality to be tasteless but... it happens everyday in our hospitals, and even in our military. It is called TRIAGE. A choice has to be made on WHO can be saved and those who will be made "comfortable". We have raised a society that thinks they can SAVE EVERYONE out side their "FAMILY". We have turned totally inclusive at the expense of our own. We have a system that spends time judiciously trying repeated wrongdoers, and then... still allowing them back into our society, often back into the life that they came from. We can't seem to say NO to anyone or anything.
 
I don't want a MAD MAX or a WALLEE society for my family but it seems we are heading down one of those roads... both are expensive and not condusive to HUMANITY. Maybe 12,000 making a "stand" ( not actually that number and not in a civil war) to be a base with which we stop this insanity.
 
I firmly believe that the Tea Party Approach will and does work. My reasoning? Have any of you even went to a community meeting on any time other than when the sky is falling? I have... though not all of them... I walk into the chamber and find that sometimes there are more elected officials in their seats than bodies in the "peanut" gallery. Apathy allows those officials to do just about what they want. I find it hard to accept officials ..whom we elect, can and do hold meetings BEHIND closed doors and sometimes only people of their ilk invited to attend. Inclusive? ? ? Transparent? ? ? Does that make you feel "safe"? I would understand if it was a "classified" situation but it isn't. WE allowed this type of action to occur.
 
I talk a lot of politics.... When I meet someone who is B!tching about the political machine, I ask my first question.... DO YOU VOTE? If not..... CU. To me, if you are not part of the process, you have no gripe. You got what you worked for.
 
So... when you are told you have restrictions of burning wood/coal for heat or use of water from what you thought was your well or light up a pipe or cigarette in the confines of YOUR home.... think about what you have done prior.

Cigarettes kill. I buried both my parents after horrible illnesses that stripped them of their dignity and their life. Banning cigarettes in cars and homes protects innocent children from their dumb ass self centered selfish parents who won't do the right thing.

Don't try to justify your position by defending smoking.

My son has RAD (Reactive Airway Disease), where certain things (smoking especially) can set off an attack where he can barely breathe. Trust me when I say that nobody around my son has a 'right' to smoke and I make damn sure they are aware of my sons rights to breathe.

Lets just kill 'em all and let God sort it out.

I'm just sick and damn well tired of all the freakin' complaining and finger pointing. Life sucks and then you die.

Move into a cabin in the woods with your 'lead' and rice. Hope that makes y'all happy. There's a lot of reasons I left PA and this type of thinking was what I was glad to get away from.
