"If you want "liars" in politics and won't vote for one.... you have limited your voting power"

I KNEW you would say something like that as soon as I hit the "Post" button, and you're right... it's tough to find anyone not out for their own agenda, and no one is perfect, certainly none I have found thus far.

But at least this lie (from Robbins) I had in writing.

Hard to ignore.
Definitely hard to forget.
And he lost my vote. I'm just a little nobody... not a big deal to him. We're all little nobodies until they want something... like tax money.

Then they know who we are.

I've also seen a 5th mailing, this one a photo-and-all endorsement from Bob "I couldn't even get elected dog catcher last time" Lucas. In it, the  FORMER sharon mayor extolls all the wonderful things Bob Robbins has done to help Lawrence County. Yes, Lawrence County. One of the two Bobs doesn't even know which county Sharon is in. (Sadly, it's hard to tell which one.)

I'm pretty sure that one wasn't actually for Robbins, but instead for Arlen Specter, who went down in flames last night in large part for rivaling Roberta Biros in party changes...(I got one in the mail.)

Hmmmm Liars who will and have got votes...even from people who HEARD what they said....

A stage full of Marine Corp League members hugged and slobbered over him at his "admission". Interesting.... I bet they voted for him.... Lie or not.

Obama for Specter

This is a good one.... yup... he voted for every bill to include the health care and recovery like he was told and now..... He is cleaning out his desk after almost thirty years and being thrown under the bus by a man who PROCLAIMED to love him and would help him. Gee I really wonder how he feels about the PA Flyover POTUS did to get to Youngstown yesterday and not even a quick stop in Philly. Hmmmm ...a liar and how many would still vote for someone like this? ??? Lie or not... On paper or on film......Again.... you site your reason and I just pose that more harm has been done to so many more because of lies and you never mention anyone but Robbins.... Just seems funny to me. I am just saying.... it happens across the board and I am sure some dirt can be picked out on ANYONE who gets the flick of the finger on election day. You gotta do what you gotta do.

You're right, now that i think about it. It was for specter (who is still one party change short of roberta's record of the past year, though i suppose he could run as an independent now, too)

So now it's OK to lie about whether you will vote for a pay raise, then go ahead and do so, and to lie about whether you served in combat?

Isn't it some kind of felony to claim false military service or honors?

It is called the "Stolen Valor Act" and yes it is illegal. Believe me when I tell you that he has "caught" the eye of people who press the issue.

My point was that all of this is purely on the merit of WHO'S OX GOT GORED. Lies are never dealt with evenly across the board. You always will have someone who "measures" the priority in their minds. It is a little white lie, an innocent lie, accidental lie, or just plain LIE. I did not have sex with that woman lie, or that was my normal stance in the men's room stall.... There are people who do justify and still have people embrace them.... So Bob will get a few less votes.... or should we just take him out back and..... well... you fill in the thought. How fine will we all draw the line? "No Mom I didn't smoke any cigarettes/scratch the car/ break the window...... Priorities I guess.

Here is a good one... " I promise to love, cherish and obey until..... WHEN???? and 2 kids later and a divorce.... WHAT???? and this is the mother of your children or father of and you wish them the worst at the cost of your children???? A lie???? and that makes 50% of married people liars. I don't have the answers.... but life goes on.

I guess when it comes down to basics...only a few things matter to anyone.... the family they trust and love and the person who signs their checks  ;)

My question is.... Should I worry if you don't like me??? *S*

Hardly. I save spiders if I can. I catch them in a jar and put them out of my house. I'm just a softy...

It's a good thing really... try to be kind, give your all and take just a little. I think someone wise said you can't go through life with catcher's mitts on.. you have to be able to throw something back.

Sometimes I give till I'm just dog-tired, but then you get up the next day and give some more. Makes for a nice day in the long run. :)

The "takers" always have so much more to worry about.

LOL all good to know... I am a gruff old man, but wife has caught me hand feeding newborn orphaned kittens and when they didn't make it.... have a tear when I buried them. And I assure you.... I am not as cat person. I hate every male cat that cruises my hood.... the human kind even more. But.... am a bit different with people.... if you don't make some effort on your own.... my hands don't carry the full load. I pity animals and babies but the human/parents.... maybe not so much. There is a point at which you need the blood and sweat you have left. If you go over that , you cost your own. The idea is to know that line.

As we all post on the forums I am sure we all get a mental picture of the inner workings of each other and their basic thought processes. Over time you will see I am not a "tree hugger" at any level, I love eating meat... raw at times if a good piece of beef, I have no pity on people who should know better than to think if it is too good to be true and then do it, my priority is family first and if any is left... others, and we are not too far off from the animals.... some like the fierceness of a Mama Bear and her cubs and others like the Cuckoo mother who will lay her eggs in another birds nest .... as hers hatch at the effort of the other mothers work, they are fed by the other mother and since they hatch before her own, will either roll her brood out of the nest or if they hatch, they force the mothers chicks out and to their death while the surrogateMom  bust her hump thinking she is caring for her own.

Oh and I do have priority on spiders.... I had a tarantula for over 20 years as a pet and still wash them down the drain if I find one in the tub.... If you expect to use my facilities, at least ask first LOL. With many spider in each square foot of a yard... I don't think they are in danger of being extinct here. In otherwards... the confines of my abode is MY kingdom...... and the King rules as long as the Queen allows LOL

Looks like todays Herald has some interesting reading in it. Saternow bloviating about the poor turnout of the voters to the fact that we have had for decades a closed primary... kinda like crying that dogs bark and cats meow... And an article of the "Johnny Come Lately's who jumped in. Throw into that.... it was noted that Mark Longietti did the same as Robbins and Brookes and Mr. Lark's remark's on the election and Biros, Allen, Fredericks. Even a good possibility that Robbins and Brookes may be on the Dem Ballot this fall. November will be interesting and most telling, it appears. It will offer up some lessons in politics, it's tools and the machine that it feeds.
