And council just tightened the rules for utilities digging up streets, though it's unclear if it will prevent the secondary mess we had on top of detours this year.

Ah yes, along those lines, I forgot to include that Irvine will be repaved once the utility work is completed.

It's been a logistical nightmare--projects happening all at once that should have been spread out over several seasons--but at least things are getting done.

It's too bad decent streets aren't part of Sharon's strategic vision!

Several downtown streets (including State St.) were just paved, Dock St. and Rt. 62 are undergoing major makeovers, and the city just secured funding to pave Stambaugh Ave.

Nice try, though.  Thanks for playing!
How about Silver St.?  Railroad St.?  And the giant holes along the  railroad tracks on Connelly?
How do they expect to attract businesses when they can't even provide  basic necessities like halfway decent streets?

Since I planned to eat at Main Moon last night anyway, I decided to check those streets out.  I drove over both sets of tracks on Connelly and could see no "giant holes" in either direction.  As for Silver and Railroad, they were torn up for utility work but have since been patched, and unlike Irvine, their patches are smooth.  So I'd say those concerns have been addressed as well.
