that would be correct... 2 bros of cancer... just after losing both parents... in 6 years family cut in half... I have (had) 5 brothers and sisters...
What's even more remarkable is that when we entered Ottawa (their nation's capital), flags were flown @ half mast in his honor... declared it "National Improv Week." He never spoke of his improv for kids except that one of his students just had something about her that he just KNEW was worth taking extra time to work with her... her parents didn't want her... so John took her under his wing... her name? Alanis Morrissette... another of his "kids" is Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy - Korean girl)... she won the Canadian Oscar which was televised in Canada and thanked him ...
there were 800 people @ his funeral... they had to find the largest house of worship in all of Ottawa.
So next time you're in Ottawa, stop by the Nationa Arts Centre... he's now on their hall of fame alongside Mr. Akroyd, Drew Carey, John Belushi...
Tell Mike to keep the faith and always laugh... never stop... that's how we got through all of this and what we learned from big brother John.
Thanks for reading... I'm most definitely a proud little sister.

what an inspiring story. i am so sorry for your loss, but oh my gosh what a fantastic tribute to someone who was obviously an incredible human being. there is a part of me that knows what living with that type of uncertainty is like. it really does make you appreciate life each and every day. mike nearly died this past winter, to see him now no-one would believe it. he has cheated death now several times since early childhood. he just keeps moving forward. he told me being brave does not mean not being afraid , but moving foreward despite your fears.
what a wonderful story. if i read correctly you lost another brother to cancer as well? do you have any other brothers or sisters?
