Local couple murdered
« on: April 12, 2010, 09:59:14 AM »
Not that this is the best topic for local news. It was mentioned in the Tribune thread, but I'd like to confine this to the LInesville board.

Here's what WICU reported.

From Trib web site: 10:24am:
Police have identified the victims as Laurie A. Prenatt, 44, and Tod E. Prenatt, 51, of 2079 Wheeler Road. Both deaths have been termed suspicious by Pat McHenry Crawford County coroner.

A friend of mine lives next door.  They are freaked out.  People are scared.....there was a robbery at the drugstore downtown on Friday too I hear.  And break-ins in this general area?  Small towners don't do well w/ this kind of thing

I see the shiny one made the news, most likely to retrieve the dog (shepard?)...I know they ruled the Mrs. death a homicide (multiple gunshot wounds) but no word yet on Mr....

Yes both had multiple gunshot wounds per Fox news. Rumor has it the they have charge a Linesville man for the murders of both. Nothing has come out yet on the news

I hope someone will go and adopt the German Shepherd dog (if he's not turned over to a family member after his quarantine at Shiny's). The dog bit a police officer ~probably trying to protect his already dead owners. That's a heck of a good dog there. Who knows if he bit the suspect also? Or maybe the dog knew the suspect and never saw the violence coming.

I heard they arrested someone.  And I happen to know the guy.  Went to HS with him.

Her obituary was in today's paper - but not his.  There was no reference to her husband in her obituary.  It seemed strange, like the family didn't want to acknowledge that he even existed.  I am sure there is more to this tragic story, I am so sad for the family.  I too admired the dog and understood why he bit the officer.

Second paragraph of her obit reads "she was married to Tod Prenatt for 15 years".

Thanks Cindy, I missed it.  Didn't mean to misrepresent anything, just expected both obits to be in the same time.

I think someone posted here one time that they charge a substantial amout to put an obit in the paper.  Maybe it is a cost issue.  I am surprised they charge so much if that's the case.  I put my parents anniversary announcement in the Trib - picture and all - for a grand total of ten bucks.

Perhaps they figure that is the last shot they get at you. I know mine will prolly be in there days on end just to let people know that I'm finally gone and won't have to put up with me anymore. There will be people come to view just to make sure it is me!  ;D ::)

I think it's something like $100 to put an obit in the tribune.
