There is a State Policeman living in Espyville and two of them in Shermansville. I think they close to Linesville for many reasons.  ::)

that could be understood two different ways.

I've lived within a half mile of the middle of Linesville for over 20 years. If there are more drug problems here than anywhere else it has escaped my attention.

They must be talking about stuff that is out in the woods or something.

Linesville is a very nice place to live.

I have a question - and I mean this seriously.  Not being flippant or ignorant.  While swimming this morning at my YMCA class a woman mentioned that a good friend of hers is a police officer and he said that he would never let his children attend Linesville schools or would ever live in Linesville.  That the drug problem is worse there than anywhere else and I was shocked.  I always thought of Linesville as a sleepy little town.  Am I missing something?

Many times I've heard that about Conneaut Lake also. I think it is everywhere and is here to stay. We knock down one dealer and someone else takes over.   ::)

It's no different in Linesville than in any other community around here.  That's a fact.

Drug use is drug use. 'Prevalence' don't really matter much. (A prevalence of one is all it takes to be a real problem - especially if it's your kid - ya know?)

If ya really wants it - you can gets it. Sleepy town or not . . . .

A couple years ago, there was a state cop who goes around to different meetings and banquets,
(at their request) and shows just how dangerous
drugs like meth are.  He is a fabulous speaker, and
stayed to answer every question that the crowd
had.  Needless to say, the whole documentary, which lasted about 20 minutes, and then about
another 1/2 hour of questions, really makes you
realize how dangerous things have gotten.

One thing that I learned from his speech, don"t
EVER pick up a cooler that may be laying along
the road or in a field, or somewhere that it should
not be.  IMO, I think that all churches, social
groups, and schools should listen to this officer
and watch his show.  Yes, every town has drug
problems, but I sure wish we could do something
to stop it.

They must be talking about stuff that is out in the woods or something. Linesville is a very nice place to live."   We have a VERY busy methadone clinic in vernon township and that place does a business...opiate addicts, heroin addicts...patients that have no qualms about stealing what ever is not nailed down to make more money to support habits or support themselves since most of them are not working. Patients drive from all over to get treatment and the use of these drugs is prevalent in this area. The cost to the tax payers is outrageous...cost to pay for their transpotation, their medication, their other support systems, the increase in crime when these folks want to steal from our local stores...drug addiction is a nasty thing to battle from a person's perspective as well as a community perspective.

As usual, I am full of questions about this Wiley case:
Was he a meth user, as I just assumed that him growing the marijuana plants was for his own use.

Do users do meth and marijuana, and taking it one step further, do they drink alcohol when using these
drugs?  Alot of prescription drugs warn not to use
alcohol when taking that prescription, so you can
probably tell that I have never experienced the reason
why people use the meth and the marijuana.

Where does cocaine fit into this picture?  Does the
above users then "graduate" into coke use, or do they
do all three at the same time?  Sounds like alot of
money spent for a short thrill or whatever you need to
feel like.  Since we have alot of kids at the campground, I would like to know what to watch for,
behavioral signs, etc.  Please don't think I'm an idiot
for wanting to know this stuff, but this is really foreign
to me.  Thanks.

There is no 'graduation' per se. Addiction goes toward whatever is preferred.

For example, Alice Cooper is an alcoholic who drank beer. Never 'graduated' to anything. He liked what he liked and stuck to it. Did he ever drink whiskey? Sure - but that wasn't his drink of choice. He doesn't drink anything anymore.

An 'addict' isn't much different. They might experiment around to see what they like - but . . . it doesn't necessarily have to be a harder drug. Folks say marijuana is a gateway drug . . . maybe, in that folks who smoke weed might be of a more experimental mind to try something else - but that doesn't mean they're gonna get hooked. Some folks will - some folks won't.

Some folks like to mix their drugs - some don't. Thing about meth and booze is that you can drink more, longer cuz the speed buzz counteracts the depressant effect of the alcohol so . . . you could party all night and into the next day . . . or three . . . .

I always thought junkies were a whiney lot by the way. Cripes - kickin' booze and barbs was harder than kickin' any opiate. Just sayin'.

I'm also not a huge fan of methadone clinics unless there are definitive treatment policies and procedures in place to get folks OFF methadone. It's meant to help you deal with withdrawal symptoms by providing a non-euphoric substitute - not be a permanent replacement for Oxys or Junk. Some of those places are just cash machines . . . sucking money from the system. On the other hand - the thought process is - better to suck money from the system than to have folks committing crimes to support their habit.

It's still systemic enabling though . . .

Not a fan of that at all . . . .
