Jefferson, Ohio is not far from Linesville but I think it is in Ashtabula county. I have asked around and nobody know of anything happening around our area

The couple that was murdered down this was was the Shugar's.  Brockway, PA.  It can be accessed by either exit 81 or exit 97 off I-80.  It is in Jefferson County.  Yes, same county I'm in.  About 20 minutes away though.  Close to Brookville, Dubois, and Punxsutawney.

if the authorities have no reason to believe that two pairs of killings an hour away from each other are related, yet the amateur sleuths here clearly suspect a connection. What information do these hometown Sherlocks have that the cops don't?

If someone pitches a no-hitter in philadelphia on the same day as someone does in new york, does that mean there is a connection?

Just a quick note to let everyone know I have posted the story, "Double homicides, robbery shock Linesville  area," that is in this weeks Community News on the web site.

On a lighter note you may be interested in my Internet Workshop, "What  is a Web Browser?," article. Great information if you don't happen to know what one is...LOL.

It ends with more encouragement for our readership to visit Double E to keep up with current events and contribute some input.

Thanks
Tom

So they made an arrest and files charges. Did I miss something or is this breaking news?

Here's the link. There is a video clip on the page as well.

I've been disconnected from the news lately.  I think I needed a vacation from all the depressing crap going on.

That's the first I'd seen anything about it.

Breaking news, as far as I know, for the newspapers but pretty much expected for the local rumor mill.

Funny because I found that via a pet project running at home that scours the web for stuff pertaining to the local area. In this case "Linesville" was the keyword. I never visit the Youngstown TV station websites. This may be used for the next version of this place depending on how it all pans out.

Yes, it was on JET TV yesterday. I am waiting on the whole story. He was supposed to be released Wednesday and before he was let out they found a reason to charge him with the murders. I think ther is more to this and I also believe there are others that are involved in this. I am glad he was charged before he had a chance to run.

Obviously, you are not from a small town.  In this
area, nothing remains a secret for more than just
minutes after something happens.  My sympathies
go out to both families, and justice seems to be
happening in a quicker fashion than most.  Both
Mr. & Mrs. Prenatt came from good family homes,
and in this town, when something like this happens, everyone feels the pain.  God bless.

i DO come from a small town. What the original statement indicated was less that they had the facts and more that they were jumping to rumor-fueled conclusions that the two crimes were related. After all, were they right?

People who truly feel for the victims shouldn't make matters worse by by pretending to know the real story.

I am a person that feels for the victums. I worked with both Laurie and Tod. I also worked very close with Tod's brother Rob.I can't imagine what this family is going through. I just think this family needs some positive answers.

The article was noticably short on details. Was there a personal connection between victims and suspect? Small town papers!
