OLD Pics!
« on: July 02, 2007, 10:14:26 PM »
Okay, I dug deep and found a few!!!

5th and 6th grade @ Neason Hill... must have cut out my face and maybe kids I either didn't like or boys I had a crush on (???)

Then there's Walter and Ken Smith and I have no clue who... anyone???? (this was a trip back for a weekend I'm sure...)

Me, Cindy Truran and Diana Johnson

And anyone remember Roger Burkholder from Saegertown? One of my prom dates (along with Dave Pratt the next year... MRS. PRATT'S SON!)

Enjoy

You will have to to that on your PC. Most of the photo editors have the ability to "rotate" an image. The post will then have to be modified with a new attachment.

BH80's: Thanks for the pics! I see they FINALLY re-paved the Meadville/Conneaut Lake I79 exit! I remember driving from Lake City/Erie to Grove City to work at the GE plant & this was the only stretch that had potholes, and they were BAD.

I have always liked that cloverleaf exit, I can't put my finger on why...

Maybe it was the awesome view of the backside of

OMG the pig people! Here's the story I was told (in like 6th grade and every year thereafter):

There was a weird family that lived in a decrepid old house up on radio tower hill (Across from the Boot Box). Their house was torched by someone & the family didn't get out but they LIVED. horribly disfigured, their noses burned off so they looked like pigs and they were pissed off! They lived in the woods & would sneak up on unsuspecting couples parking up on the hill. BOO!  :o

I SWEAR I saw them a couple of times, although my vision was, ahem, enhanced. 8)

NP: Did you ever see "something" up in Greendale? I've got stories...  :-X

Charlie Griggs, that name sounds familiar. Did he have a cute daughter, possibly '78, '79?

Cindy seems to ring a bell with me.

I never saw anything at Greendale. In our neighborhood we always headed west into the woods behind the college football stadium.  That way we were out of sigh of the masses and free to do out evil miscreant deeds. It was easy, didn't need to beg for the car or explain how it got dirty or where all the gas went the next morning.

That's why we went to Greendale. Between the cemetery and the fairgrounds there were huge ravines, stretches of flatwoods, swamps, trails, etc. We would go "camping" for the weekend. Even in the winter! That's the part I miss, woods in town.

I miss the woods too. There are big ravines all over that area. We could literally follow trails through the woods and come by Saegertown if we wanted too.  As much as I want my kids to be able to play in the woods I just can't let them do it down here. They still want to touch everything and there is too many things here that can hurt you or worse.  I got the joy of getting bit by e brown recluse this summer and the wound (it was u-g-l-y!) took 2 months to heal.

I'm even leary of having the kids in our yard. Fire ants are the big problem, then the cotton mouths and the pygmy rattlers to a lesser degree. The joy of living in the sub-tropics I guess.

Yes I know the area you were in. I'll bet you did the trek behind the old Hamilton farm and under the fence into the fairgrounds too didn't you?
