Did someone mention before that there is a website with pictures of the Blue Streak restoration project?

If anyone has extra daily votes there is a Boy Scout in Lower Burrell, PA (near Pittsburgh) who is working on his Eagle Scout Project to install a lightning detection system at his town's baseball complex.  He's currently #101 in the $5k category.

I see that a lot of Blue Streak supporters are also voting for the Eagle Scout Greenhouse project.  He came in at #11 in July.  He's currently in 4th place in the $5k catetory.   I hope that he and the Blue Streak both make it into the top 10 this time!

Someone had pointed out earlier that once you are signed in you can click on "Your Profile" at the bottom of the page & it makes it very easy & quick to cast daily votes for projects that you've voted on before.

Autumnwood is also a good one, trying to help get senior citizens on-line...and in addition to the sea turtles on the Gulf side, there is one to restore a lighthouse, ranked about 7th....

Thanks for the links to the pictures JIMMY T and SAVE CLP!  I forwarded them on to a few people.

I also voted for the lighthouse project (250k) on the Pepsi Gulf side.  I don't know if I'm missing something, but I still haven't found a way to search for projects on the Gulf side by keyword. I've just been bringing up the leaders & voting from there.

Press release issued by the Trustees:

Conneaut Lake Park’s Blue Streak Coaster Could Open This Ride Season

Conneaut Lake, PA - The Trustees of Conneaut Lake Park, Lisko Entertainment, Park Restoration, and Structural Technologies Inc. (STI) wish to thank all of the supporters of the Pepsi Refresh Program in July and donors to the Blue Streak Restoration Fund.  The project has qualified to re-enter the Program into the August voting period…and is currently at the #2 spot! Votes can be submitted every day via the text message 100510 sent to Pepsi at 73774 or by voting online at www.refresheverything.com/conneautlakeparkbluestreak. The current voting period ends August 31, 2010 and the top ten projects in the $50,000 category each win.

As important as it is to try as hard as possible to win the $50,000 grant, the Park is also faced with the present situation in which the STI crew needs to continue their work on the coaster. If STI is forced to move on to their next project, then the progress made so far on the reconstruction will come to a halt.   The Trustees are still optimistic that the first phase of this project can be completed this year and that the Blue Streak will run this season, but financial support is needed NOW to make this happen.  There is a link at www.conneautlakepark.com with details regarding donations.

The complete restoration of the coaster extends beyond the first phase of getting it running.  If the Park were fortunate enough to win the grant, those additional funds would be used for the next section of track to need replacing, restoration of additional cars, and general upkeep of the coaster; all very important to the future of the coaster. This is not a single-phase restoration project. So, both efforts of support are very valuable.

ok, two weeks down, two to go....great job everyone, catch your breath, but no time to relax...it's halftime, but no rest for the weary....keep voting, keep getting new blood, keep on promoting to everyone you can. We had a good start, but some other projects are coming on strong, we need to try to maintain top 5 status going into the last few days, as a lot of movement happens then....we appear to be in good shape so far, but there are a few projects just below us gathering a lot of support, so please, everyone, don't let up now....

I placed votes on the Pepsi Refresh Gulf side & saw A LOT of votes/comments from groups that are on the Refresh side.  Cure JM has moved up from 4th to 3rd place -- they are voting for & getting a lot of votes from the Gulf side.  Perhaps we should be doing that too in order to stay in the lead.

I have been voting daily, last week I started to vote from my work computer.  I saved the direct link to the Blue streak page,  from when I click on the link it takes about five minutes for the page to load, then about five mnutes to sign in and another five minutes for the vote to be successful.

All other web pages plus the ones that require a login load quickly.

Could it be something with my browser setting.  Any suggestions?

Been text voting too

I'm seeing the same delays in login/vote too.

This is simply amazing.  If you have a Facebook account, go to the search box and type in "blue streak pepsi" with that, you'll see the link to the voting page...in the small print under the link it tells you how many people have posted that link.  Granted, that would include July, too.  And, I would think that it's counting "people" not number of times the same person posted it, right?  The number is staggering, in my opinion:  20,464
So, I'm not super familiar with Facebook; am I reading this right?
