Larry King Show on Wednesday nite, Sept. 8th
« on: September 09, 2010, 11:54:39 AM »
Did anyone watch Larry's show last nite regarding the building of a mosque
at the Ground Zero site?  It is always a solemn day on Sept. 11th each year, but now we have to wonder what the outcome will be if Pastor Terry
Jones goes through with his burning of the Qurans on the same day.  Having two more potential problems regarding the date and the sacred
ground, I think there will be alot of uneasy people that day.

71% of people polled are against building a mosque at Ground Zero, and
Pastor Terry Jones has received more than 100 death threats since he
has announced his plans.

It was so hard watching and listening to the people on the show who had
lost loved ones that day, and now this coming day will be more intense
if Jones does what he wants to do.  I just can't believe that a religious
group of less than 50 people could change our course of history, again.
Jones has been warned of the ramifications if he burns the Qurans, and
he doesn't seem to care how many people it will harm.  After listening to
Larry's show and then Anderson Cooper's show, I think we may need to
rewrite our Constitution to protect ourselves better within the boundries
of the law.

No, didn't watch it.  Just read about it today.  As for Rev. Moustache.. I'm thinking delusions of grandeur along with some other MH issues.

This story keeps getting worse by the hour.  The President does not want to call the minister, because he does not want everyone making threats
just to get a call from the President.  With the risk to our U.S. Troops, a
phone call would be the lesser of two evils, IMO.

They brought out something new last night that I had never heard, and I
have bought several books on the Sept. 11th issue.  President Bush called
Condi Rice right after the attacks, and told her that he wanted to come
back to Washington from Florida.  She was supposedly very short and even
nasty to him on the phone, told him "that he can't come back to Washington right now", and hung up on him.  They had Cheney in his
bunker.  A travel warning has been issued by Washington right now, and
terrorist attacks are promised if the Qurans are burned, and we still have
50,000 troops the are very vulnerable.

Here is a question for you: if our country is so broke, how can we afford
another attack and another war?

...travel warning has been at code orange or higher since 9/11...has never been below...there are always travel warnings...traveling international...and domestic...Now not sure making a phone call...should or will do anything...I think this guy is a nut...but I think he is not doing anything against the law...except going against a a non-burning code...are not our troops vulnerable...right now...do you think that the burning of the American Flag is not wrong...do you think that taking lives by flying a plane into a building is not wrong...do you think that the attachs will stop because this guy decides not to burn...I would think that the terrorists...would escalate attacks now if they could...the Media is just giving them an excuse to do what they already are going to do...IMO...I do not think that anything is going to change with the burnings...we (America) are not liked by some and it will not matter either way...we (American's) will still be targets...so you think either way...if this burning happens or not...that you could just go and walk around Afghanistan or Iraq...and nothing will happen to you...I am not sure where one draws the line...and I agree that the Media has blown this way out...now I am not saying that I agree or disagree in what he is wanting to do...and I do not see why he wants to do the burning...but I think that many...many have taken this to a way higher level...more so then this man could of done by his self...JMO

I totally agree with everything you have just written.  This is just so
outrageous that a member of a clergy would want to burn another
religion's bible, or whatever they refer to their Quran is to them.  If this
nutcase had a following of 300 instead of 30, I wonder if he would get
the call he wants.  But, it only takes one nutcase to cause years of
death and destruction.  Now we have Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin getting
together to do some type of event the same day.

Here is my opinion, and it is only my opinion.  We can never and should never disregard his constitutional right of speech.  What should be happening right now is that the President should notify the media to not cover this non-event.  There should be nothing about it reported here or more importantly overseas.  Build a large shield around the church and let them burn.  For the record I do not believe that burning of a book is ever the right thing to do.  In this case we need for the sake of national security to do as I suggested.

It's called off.  Supposedly there's a deal with the N.Y. mosque Imam to not build the mosque there.

So now you're against freedom of press?

I am not against freedom of the press.  It is like freedom of speech - but you can't yell fire in a crowded movie theatre.  Some common sense needs to be introduced here.

Dealing with a deranged person is like dealing with someone who has entirely too much to drink, you just can't trust them to use common
sense.  In this case, I would rather deal with the drunk.

Just about 15 minutes ago, the news stated that Imam does not want
to meet with Rev. Jones to talk.  Janet is right about the news media
getting things way more out of control than they need to be, as people
like myself worry too much about the safety of my family and friends.

As of a few minutes ago, the media announced that basically, this is a
real cluster f---, with both Jones and Imam changing their minds, their
stories, etc.  I don't trust either one of them, even past Saturday.

The Taliban is making threats, and I don't understand why our President
isn't taking a very strong stance in this.  We voted him in to protect our
country and everyone who is in the United States.  Instead, the TV just
announced that in the short time he has been in office, he has spent more
money than all of the Presidents combined before him.

There was a guy on Anderson Cooper last nite that said that Imam's
interview solidified his feelings on Imam, that he is all double-talk and
cannot be trusted.  They also said he is a slum-lord.  He wants to make
peace for everyone, but it has to be his way or the highway.  We also
found out that Jones got evicted from Germany and the church he
started there, as he became very domineering and demanding.  I don't
think this story is going to end for a long, long time.

This guy swore to burn the Quran, as a matter of his faith.

Now it's off.

I coudn't prove it , but such a turnaround, from an individual who had professed such outrage and righteous anger now is a lamb of peace.

Maybe he answered to a higher power.
