poison ivy
CindyLouWho:
I've had poison ivy 3 times this summer. I have been more than careful in avoiding it. Know where it is now. Removed it (hence the worst case ever!) and over the past couple days have noticed two or three small bumps on my arms that definatly feel like and are starting to look more like posion ivy blisters. This is how it always starts. It creeps up on me very slowly. Than BAM! I am 100% confident I haven't contacted the stuff. So my question: Does anyone know if this stuff will just kinda come back....erupt just a little bit? My last bout with this was BAD. I had it on my scalp and face, arms, legs, stomach......I was miserable. I looked like a walking calamine advertisement. So I'm wondering if it can linger a bit? Like be in remission? It's been a couple months since I cleared that up. Anyone have experience with this or have any idea? I can't find anything on it.
NightmarePatrol:
As far as I know once it's gone it's gone and won't come back until contact is made again. Perhaps you had some residual sap/juice on some yard clothes?
Amidala:
Yeah, clothing. One of my friends (now lost to breast cancer) was extremely allergic to it. If she went near the tree where it grew, she would break out. Her clothing had to be washed very well in the summer. I've never had it so don't know personally. Anakin gets it occassionally.
CindyLouWho:
Maybe my shoes! I do have these skank tennies I wear to mow/trim in. Those have not been washed.
CindyLouWho:
Darned dogs. They have been hanging out by the tree that gets the ivy vines on it cause there is a family of squirrels they are trying to nab. Definately could be them. Thanks guys. Why didn't I get that?
