I found it interesting.... price per cubic foot is just one charge... use of equipment to deliver is another charge. We actually have nothing to compare unles we know JUST the cost of the gas by itself and any posible charges above the norm for delivery.

What I noticed the last time.... They all offered a good price but..... just when you thought it was a safe choice...they decided to drop their program because of not enough money to be made and guess what.... we were all back with NFG. It is always a gamble.... me...I kinda like a well worn pair of shoes over brand new if I don't need them. I never changed from NFG and it seemed everyone else was back on board as well...would I think this time to be much different??? Not really.

One supplier was offering to lock in gas for the next year at something like 75c per unit, which it pointed out was about a nickel lower than National Fuel's average price for the past couple years.

The last part is important, because national fuel's current price is about 72c.

NF is required to find the cheapest gas it can and pass it along dollar for dollar, repricing quarterly. So in essense this company would have you lock in to them for at east 1/4 of the time for a price higher than NF's current price.

The last time this scene went down a lot of people like me went with Atlas, which i believe was based in barkeyville. Then First Energy bought the company to use its gas for its own generating needs and we all got sent back to NF.

Yeah, when you look at a warm-weather bill, the flat charge is 16 or 20 bucks to be a customer plus a delivery fee (which will not change) on my last bill was about $3. The actual gas i bought? About $2.90.

So in the long run the whole process is about as futile as driving another mile to find gasoline for a penny less.
