"Folks.... it's Christmas .... 2 million people just lost unemployment, the economy is in the tank, and the original bad boys are out there to begin with. Can you see this getting worse??? I see a lot of "competition" between "good and evil" coming up. "

Not just Christmas.... Americans aren't used to being "poor" and going without. "Change `a gonna come" one way or another, I'm afraid.

Remember what I always said..... "know the difference between needs and wants."

The depression taught our parent/Grandparents pretty well. I think we have forgotten some of what THEY learned.

Family is ALL you have, up until it is time to take that "last walk".

I for one...am soooo glad that, though not rich by any means, for not going into debt so bad the walls caved in, that my Father gave me the mind to try to keep things on an even keel.... output no more than the input. I missed sometimes but am back on track.

I thank God for the mind to figure this out to the point I know my family will be ok, even with less. I listed many things I can still get rid of and still be ok.... cable/dish tv... cellphone, DSL ( maybe go to Access 995 dialup...$9.95/month) keep my used vehicles but park the bikes, go back through all the clothes I have and cut back, give some away... I don't smoke so can't give that up again...but..I do like a beer once in a while...still have a case I got for Fathers day. Hell I don't even get haircuts anymore LOL. I think my family and I can hunker down in this mess and hope the light at the end of the tunnel isn't the front end of a train. I am sure there are other things I can get rid of or stop but they will emerge as the easy ones get pushed aside.

Police will have their hands full and judges dockets full as well. All I can say is for all of us... to pull the blankets up closer to your head and we will weather this.

Interesting that you said that.... When the PATCO in the Burgh needed money, he cried poor and tried to toll I80. When that didn't happen, he relied on Stimulus, when that didn't happen...he NOW "FOUND" $45 Million dollars to give PATCO. Wow!!!! Now PATCO will burn through that as well and will be back with hands open.... but I think Corbett isn't anything like Rendell on spending and having a none ending supply of money. We shall see.

Well a neighbor came through. They reported 2 people trying to break into a home and described them to the police as they were in route. They found them hiding in a garage..... 2 Black 16 year olds in broad daylight. School? LOL Maybe they will get some civics lessons in Juvi. Thank God there are still some neighbors out there with cajones to do what is right.

They are working on tying the 2 into the other 4 daytime robberies. I guess their MO is to go to the door and knock..all else follows according to if the door is answered. If strangers are in your hood and they aren't "just passing through" 9-1-1   !!!!

Oh, I was at the Sharon Workshop. Hard to swallow so I think there will be more tweeking... savings would be over $200,000 at the expense of 4 police and 3 city street workers as well as some admin. It would still leave Sharon over $500k in the hole. It is that route or.... raise taxes.... neither tastes good. The Council was split....
