I'd bet if you took your pics up to Juniper, there'd be some of those older folks who could tell ya.  Many of them lived in the area all their lives.  I was up there once not too long ago doing BP screenings and one older gentleman made me laugh by saying something like "I finally get to live on upper Chestnut St.".......the Director of the place took me on a tour of the place.....there is lots of heavy wood trim here and there.....mostly in the bar downstairs - and the foyer  - they still have happy hour for the folks who live there in the bar.  Rambling.......

CLW you are not rambling at all. Were I to have the time, I would drive to Meadville and do just what you suggested! I appreciate any and all input that you local natives have provided.
Thanks,
Grok

p.s. Kinda strange that the assisted living place has a bar but I guess kinda cool too. Certainly would keep the elderly socializing to a certain degree. (Wonder what the post drink pick up lines are like...)

They had beer and wine-making going on as well, lol.  I guess it's one of the favorite projects they do every now and again.  It's not a nursing home.....assisted living is much different.......the people are fairly independent and active.......not that nursing home residents can't be but their illnesses or physical limitations hinder the amount of activity you would see in an assisted living facility.

my dad was in assisted living for awhile. The favorite activity at his place was making homemade icecream.
Seems icecream increases in importance as you age ;D

That's because we foolishly deny ourselves all that is good... then wake up one day, realize we're old and going to pass on without having really enjoyed life.

It's like going to the movies and keeping your eyes closed through the whole picture.

Eat ice cream! Have a cookie. Slurp down a frosty! :)
