If anyone wants to post on a subject, specifically right now
about the Chapin issue which has been covered very well in
the newspaper, I thought it would only be fair to have a
separate Subject Column for the many different issues that
somehow end up on the CLP topic column.  If you want to
use it fine, or you can put your opinions anywhere you want, it does not matter to me.

Corrections officers and police officers from all over the region got together at Vernon fire department and made a procession, together, to Gary's Friday night calling hours and entered together and formed a line together and saluted Gary.  Then the fellow corrections officers took turns in twos keeping watch over him all night long afterwards and until the funeral the next day.

I didn't know that, thanks for posting it.  I really respect the brotherhood that this vocation has, and he and his
family are surely humbled by all of it.  Just to see all of them standing outside in uniform and white gloves brought
tears to my eyes.  I hope that every town supports its own
like the town of Conneaut Lake does.  CLW, I'm sure you saw all the signs outside, and the number of people who
go pay their respects to the family at the funeral home.

i saw the co's in uniform, on my way home from work.  standing at the entrance. it really moved me.  i think it is sad that this mans life ended over (so ive heard) a pencil   being sharpened.  when i quit the DOC i had ppl questioning me as to why. why would you  quit such a  good paying job, and with such good benefits?  sometimes money isnt everything. and until you personally can walk a mile in a CO"s shoes, you should never question them.

I've known Gary since I was a kid in high school.  II had to stop by.  His wife is such a nice lady....didn't know her real well except to sit by her at a wrestling match or two over the years.  Nice people.

CLW:  Do you remember Dr. Hanek, the dentist
who lived on Aldina Drive?  If so, Janis is his daughter.  Dr.
passed away several years ago, and I am not sure about
Mrs. Hanek.  Janis also had a sister that passed away just
a very short time ago, and I honestly don't know how she
found the strenth to hold up through all of this.

On the CLP board, I posted that in two weeks something big will change the news stories in the papers.  For all of
you who responded in an unkind way:  Our restaurant will
be sheriff-saled off on Friday, Dec. 3rd, at 10:00 a.m.
It undoubtedly will change our lives, and not in a good way.
Now you know what the two weeks meant, so that is why
I didn't want to take up space on the Park topic.

Why didn't you just say that? Woulda been far less cryptic and not invited folks' to eye rollin'. Unless you're the kind of person that really likes being the topic of conversation - be it good or bad . . .

Bummer 'bout the restaurant. Life is rife with change though - both positive and negative . . . regardless - change is opportunity. I hope you are able to seize those you have now.

Its rather a known fact that SP&P is a person who likes to keep topics about herself and anything that can be even remotely attached to herself in the publics eye. I used to be married to such a person. Who needed constant attention to get thru the day. What some might call a touchey feeley needdy person. After a couple years I had to get out and the guy she married after I left he left after three more years. SP&P sounds like deajavue all over again. LOL!   OL FATTY

I smile when I read posts like yours.  You hide behind a screen name, but do you have to guts
to face me person-to-person and say the same
things.  At least I am not the type of person who
"hides" behind a screen name to voice opinions,
good and bad.

It seems to me that if someone says or does some-
thing that posters like you don't agree with, that
person is automatically on your poop list.  Guess
what--I don't give a damn.  My restaurant was, and
still is, considered by the state as a landmark destination, and many people, like myself, hate to
see it destroyed.  It is a major part of Conneaut Lake, and I am praying with all my heart that the
person who said he wants to buy it, will buy it on
Friday.  Either way, it will make the news, and many
people miss going there.  I asked you once to just
pass over my posts, but you enjoy keep kicking me
when I am down.  Can't you just get a life and leave
me alone?

For myself - I meant no disrespect.

Just making an observation and supposition.

Life is what it is - and more often than not - that's what we make it out to be.

........

....it's always a good chuckle when folks plead that they don't give a damn....

....and proceed to prate about commodiously as to just how much they don't give a damn....

Well, one thing you can count on is that everyone who comments around PnP certainly remain predictable.

Yawn...
