How high is the water?
« on: December 01, 2010, 03:05:14 PM »
The French Creek went from 6 feet to 11 feet in just the past day.  Living along the Cussewago like I do I have the United States Geological Service website bookmarked for a ready lookup.  Doing the regular things - doing laundry ahead in case we get flooded - husband brought in a lot of firewood in case also.  The last flood was a doozie - here is hoping - they say it will crest at 14' on Thursday.

Didn't realize we got that much rain. We didn't have a flood warning. Hope you are ok, JP!

I live on the same street as your sister.  Our house is set back the furthest and closest to the creek.  Wonderful place to live in the summer - lots of trees and cool water nearby.

True.  It is a really nice neighborhood.  I've only been there in the snow!

I had a little water come in where I ran a water line from the basement out to my new garage. Must have seeped in there. Will have to cement that up We got a LOT of rain in a couple days in our area.

If I remember right flood stage in Meadville is measured from the Main Fire Station.
So my question is The 5th ward and the Cussewago are lower.
At what point on the chart NP posted do they flood. It's lower than 14' isn't it?

I thought it was measured at the Mercer Street bridge area.  I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

Gosh, Janet, with Christmas less than a week away, I sure hope you guys all make it thru okay.  Is there anything that
the forum friends can bring in, like bags of sand, or anything,
that would help?

Janet, are you okay now in there?  I know that the state of
California is getting hit really hard right now, and it is so sad
this time of year.  Hope you are all doing fine, happy holidays.
