For those of you that are interested Ron Paul is expected to announce his candidacy today. He will also be appearing on The View, Hannity and the Colbert Report today, April 25th.
Interesting choice of appearances is you ask me.

I am sorry but I think he has the same chance he did the last run. He has good talking points but falls short on a complete explaination.... I am especially disturbed with his idea on our Military.
The FOG OF WAR is present in our Sand Box situation but.... having permanent bases around the world is still a good idea in my book. My point.... we are always there to help other countries with disasters.... If the bases were all closed...what we would have left is the Carrier Groups. Not always on Station in the vicinity. And if we need to remove our citizens from a hotspot.... I would want it now rather than a day or more later.
We earned the right to have bases in many areas...we pulled many a Country's bacon out of the fire in WWII and never took so much as enough land to bury our dead. So..our bases in Europe and Japan/Korea.... I think are earned.... National Security is NOT just having the personnel but also..LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.
I know he wants our troops on our Borders and I have to wonder how much that would do, given the situation and regulations imposed on our present Border Patrol Dept and the Sheriffs along part of it. The original 1878 Posse Comitatus Act was passed with the intent of removing the Army from domestic law enforcement. This means they can patrol but I believe have no power of ARREST unless WE are under Marshal Law ourselves.
My question would be to all who live as citizens.... do YOU want the Military to have the power of arrest and detainment without working with our local or elected Law Enforcement? I think Paul has some of his own ideas and they don't work for me.
Personally, I have yet to see a "Messiah" from the opposing parties that catches much from me, and I pray we will finally get one... We still have a long way to go in this election so anything can happen. :'(

Well as with all candidates I don't agree on all points with any of them, however if I don't hear them all out I'm doing myself and the public a disservice. In the end the one that makes the most sense to me gets my votes. I have to (like everyone else) take the good with the bad in any administration weather I voted for them or not. I still have 561 days to make up my mind.
