I heard there are traffic cameras on the Smock Bridge. Go slow or get your ticket in the mail.

Yes I have heard the same thing...Guess I will have to take a walk across the bridge, with my camera in hand, and see if I can locate it...

If they are like the ones I have seen they will be about 8-10 feet in the air and about 12"x15" with an attached strobe. That of course is what ONE manufacturers cameras look like. What these look like I have no idea.

Well, something had to be done to generate money for the city seeings how not many are feeding the parking meters. I know I don't and won't. Erie is the only place to shop!   ;D

If it's in the middle of the bridge - who gets the money? Vernon Township or Meadville? Maybe the French Creek Conservancy should get it.

Nobody ever knows where the money goes in Meadville. Surely not to repair the streets!  ::)

Yes Lock I am with you on the street repair comment... They make some of the boneheaded decisions I have ever seen, like spending what $40000 to beautify the alley across from the Market house? Come on give me a break will ya...

My impression is that it would be for pedestrian and artist type market.

I kind of like the idea, to make a cozy little shopping nook in that area, between the two streets. Certainly won't make downtown look any worse...

....let's see if we have this straight-

....they can't even to begin to keep the Market House
occupied and anywhere remote near being in in the black....

....there are a number of artsy places already in the immediate area, barely getting by, if they are still there....

....and they are adding more  seasonal artsy marketing space....

....certainly makes sense....

....just a hunch-

....there will be a least once mellow-yellow tow truck vendor in the alley to haul  cars out of a pot holes....

I used to play a lot at Otter's . . . I can attest to the fact that - well - that alley (also being next door to a nightclub) is used for a great deal of "relief" and by renovating it . . . possibly adding plants and stuff would just give a lot folks on Friday and Saturday nights - a new pot to piss in!

Buuuuut someone in a room somewhere had a brilliant idea that they were able to convince others was brilliant idea - because the folks in said room don't ever go downtown late on Friday or Saturday nights I'm guessin' . . .

Government planning at it's finest yes?
