military funeral protest planned
« on: May 05, 2011, 09:28:17 PM »
Just heard the church that protests military funerals plans to protest the funeral in Jamestown tomorrow....if you have the time, perhaps you can go and show your support for the family, rather than the "Thank God for Dead Soldiers" folks....maybe I was just raised different, but no religion or church I know would do that.

Remember "The Swift Boat Veterans"?

We need a team called "The Swift Kick Veterans" to go and show some support for the family.

If I was in your area now, I would go, but maybe it's good that I can't be there.  It would be VERY difficult for me to not do something that I would have to pay the consequences later.  All I can say is that if the Muslins ever override our country, and establish their laws on us, and start to lop off some of our heads, that they start with that bunch.  Anyone have any skunk gland oil or a roadkill skunk that you can throw into that "church" crowd?  Freedom of speech has it's own checks and balances in the end.

a friend told me that his very-straight, married/father friend would be willing to go up there and get close to the church wackos and hug and kiss another guy if he knew it would blow their minds.

while i reluctantly agree this is their first-amendment right to be there, at the same time as alleged christians they are no better than radicals who kill innocents in the name of their god. The God i worship doesn't work this way, and in that respect they should be ashamed.

it also sounds like this is a small, dwindling group. I've heard of at least one other smalltown funeral where they threatened to show up, the townsfolk were ready for them, but they never showed. Let us hope this is what happens here.

And you believe this is a real possibility because, what...? That President Trump will dismantle the military?

If you ontend on attending the Funeral for Josh, I will ask that you don't confront these creeps. They are set to be 500 feet away from the Funeral from Funeral home to Church to Cemetery.

I went to calling hours yesterday and talked to some of the Vets and people who will be there. I explained that the WBC makes their money on confrontation with the help of the ACLU and like orgs. If denied access, they sue and if publically assaulted, they sue. It is easy to say " I will kick their asses." but first...it opens you up to a sharp loss of income as well as harm to your own family and second.... physical and verbal confrontation, doesn't show reverence and respect to Josh and his family and takes you DOWN to their level.

I believe that if the Law is followed, they will not be much of a factor if any at all. From what I have gathered, a few have arrived and are at Cianci's Hotel in Greenville.

As I talked to Joshua's family members I thought it so unfair, to them, that they expressed concern over the arrival of the WBC rather than their full concern with the Honoring of their loved one and the support from family and friends. When this happens..WBC wins.

I find it interesting that we can give UBL a "proper and timely" Religeous Burial but we can't seem to be able to give one to one of our own. This is not the way I was raised. This is what our society has allowed some to do today. That is a shame.

Final word... If you go today to Joshua's Funeral, honor HIM and focus on him and his family. Be safe and smart.

Five hundred feet is about 1 2/3 football fields distance. That's a good distance from the services. It is so hilly and wooded around here, I wonder if the two groups will even be able to see each other. I'm not familiar with Jamestown.

I am not sure but I think that distance has to be observed from the procession as well as cemetery area.

I talked to some of the Vets and riders and from what I gathered...the Topeka Trash never showed or if they did, they were well controlled and hidden away.

My take has been....they threaten to come into an area and don't, but they got what they wanted...... Media coverage and disrupting what time the Family and Friends have....to say goodbye.

I think those who claim to be "Veterans Against the Westboro Baptist Church" might want to rethink their stategies... They should make a road trip to Topeka and set up pickets around the "Hornets Nest" 24/7 insteadofswatting them when they land willy nilly. Intent is way different than execution. Make them defend THEIR nest.
