In the Interest of Liberty
« on: June 12, 2011, 03:14:32 PM »
I've seen some trends of late (well more than 'of late') that I think perhaps would be an interesting thread to discuss . . . and get folks to thinkin'.

I get the sense that Government(s) doesn't care for the internet nor the freedom of communication it offers. So - there's stuff like this:

Tennessee Law Bans Posting Internet Images that Cause Emotional Distress

And then there's this (not the same - but related as a 'liberty' kinda thing):

Cedar Rapids Wants Lockboxes Installed on Commercial and Apartment Buildings for Easy Access

I saw both of these today and just kind of shook my head.

I can see Tennessee issuing and endless string of warrants over this (if it passes)

The Iowa thing. I see what the so called "good intention" is, but it's a serious infringement on the rights of the renters and the business owners. The security risk and liability issues could be astronomical in the end.

And when somehow the fire department lockbox key system inevitably gets "hacked", then what?

There's a lot better applications to the variables involved with that particular proposal. I think they're looking for the easy solution.

I heard a blurb on the news today about people turning in their "unused" guns for cash. One woman said "It's better to have $150 in my pocket than some gun I never used, just laying around". ... ???

I hope she never has a need.

Granted - this is from The Blaze - but it offers a start to a little more information on this subject. U.N. Agenda 21 is real. And it's making inroads into America.

What is Agenda 21?

Some things seem so absurd that people roll over for them in disbelief.

Well - I suppose.

Is it mainstream? No.

Is the information accurate? Most definitely.

The 'idea' kinda took hold in the mid-70's (which also brought us the idea of a climate crisis) and came to fruition with H. W. Bush signing U. N. Agenda 21 in '92. Clinton strengthened it a few years later domestically and as a result we now have:

This.

Out of curiosity I looked up the actual UN document. (think its better to read the actual document to form an opinion)  Here is the link:

http://www.un.org/esa/dsd/agenda21/res_agenda21_00.shtml

However, I am going to bed; I will read it at another time.

I like having it simplified for me so long as it is simplified accurately.  There is some long, dreary reading to be done otherwise.
