Did you ever wonder....

why Bloomberg wasn't going to let clergy into the WTC site for the Remembrance...

Why ... for a Government hell bent on not allowing prayer and reading of the Holy Bible in schools and such... they were hell bent on reciting passages from the Bible as well as pray, every chance they got yeaterday...even the POTUS.

If the WTC attack wasn't religious in it's inception ( It was... Jihad against "infidels" ) why pray at all?

I am so "FRACKING" tired of being PC...I almost puke.

Because of religion, our world has changed... not always to the better.

Here is food for thought... In Israel..the average Jewish family has 2 1/2 children, the average Muslim family in Israel has 6 or more. Demographics seems to point to waiting 20 years and when the Muslim population is higher than the Jewish population...they can vote and change Israel to the Arab State they want so badly..so... shouldn't the killing stop and let attrition take over?

Europe, as a whole is headed the same direction. It is only a matter of time unless...... the followers of Jehovah, Yahweh and the God of David start breeding like rabbits. So... do you think we all understand our "work assignments?"  ;D

There does seem to be a certain blatant note of hypocrisy regarding the presence of clergy and the recital of prayer. Perhaps the powers that be actually believe if it's delivered by the non-clergy it has more credibility.

It's kind of like having an agnostic tell you that you'll go to hell for something.

The mayor's explanation seems to be that it avoids the touchy issue of which religions to allow to participate, because one of them interested might be Muslim. It was also noted that the families of the victims wanted it to be this way as well and that the jewish leadership had no problem.

And last i knew, the government is not allowed to establish what an official religion is, so to say only the real ones could take part wouldn't work.

I wonder if the scientologists wanted to speak? Seriously though, don't you find it odd that the politicians would offer up christian prayer rather than just avoid the issue altogether to really stay true to the concept? Of course our entire legal and value system is based on the theocratic value system which is pretty conservative.  So if our societies norms and mores are based on christian values then why can't we just come out and say it as a country?

I'm all for the separation of church and state. We all know how well that went over way-back-when. The problem is the church went unchecked but they kept royalty and the oligarchy from running rampant. Of course with the church out of the way like it is now...  Am I rambling aimlessly or did I somehowmake a point:

Please show me where the documents of these United States say.."Separation of Church and State". I think it was in a personal letter by Jerfferson to a ministry.... not a part of an official document. I DO think there is something to the Government NOT assigning an OFFICIAL religion.

Again... this was depicting Muslim attacking Judeo-Christian. Hell ..even Safety Force Clergy died adminstering to Firt Responders and Victims alike. I just find this all interesting...

I find this "movement" interesting. A few things become points to ponder..

1) This almost reminds me of the protests of the 60's and the attempt to put down the Polititians, Business's, Bourgeoisie (Held to be preoccupied with respectability and material values) and Proletariat ideals. Then fast forward 20 or 30 years and many of them ARE those whom they protested... Hmmm Do you think???

They despise big business, yet use items like cell phones, computers and information devices to get their voices across... Wonder what they thought of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.

2) The DEMANDS... http://occupywallst.org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-for-occupy-wall-st-moveme/

Interesting.. items 3 and 4... Why would you need free college in most circumstance if according to items 1&3 it would GUARANTEE you a living wage of $20/hour..no matter what your employment status. Most go to college to increase their value thus their pay... Hmmm sounds like they want to be... what.. rich?

They are worried about the environment yet.. how much fossil fuel was used to get there and there is Sanitation problems where they stay. Hope they brought plenty of Pooper Scoopers and trashbags.

Now... back on line... they hate Wall Street ....Bankers and Business... Need for school loans and jobs though... and they want all of their bills forgiven. My point will remain... it isn't BIG BUSINESS that needs spanked... it is the LEGISLATORS, PAST AND PRESENT who wrote and passed the LAWS allowing them to do what they do... LEGALLY. To add gasoline to this fire... Take a guess on WHO allowed them to do that??? Anyone and Everyone who was of voting age. If you don't vote..don't bitch, if you do vote... be an informed voter on each person and item you lay an X on.

Sometimes the crap on the bottom of your shoe, is yours. We have to learn the difinition of certain words and apply them. Coming to mind... "WANTS, NEEDS, FAIR, LEGAL". I think they are important when trying to figure this all out.

I WANT a New Mustang

I NEED any car as long as it works

THEY should do their FAIR share ( to be determined by whom?)

THEY need to go to jail .... but yet what they do is LEGAL and you have to ask... "Why AREN'T they in jail?" Answer...according to the LAW, they didn't break them. Is it Fair? (According to whom?)

Is it FAIR that someone who lives on Welfare, takes money given them for their livelyhood and buys a lottery ticket and wins sayyyy $20 million Dollars. Ticket bought by the tax payers money intended for the basics... Hmmm Should the State take the money? What is fair and what is legal?

Stepping off the soapbox...

They despise big business, yet use items like cell phones, computers and information devices to get their voices across...
That in itself isn't necessarily hypocritical.

People protest banks and fees, yet they need to put their money somewhere and get a mortgage from somewhere. In olden days, they complained about transit or utility monopolies, but they still have to find transportation to work at the factory or heat their homes.

What the protesters seem to be getting at -- and this is even harder to figure out than for the original teabaggers -- is that the business world seems to be unfairly exploiting the common man as well as getting undue and uneven support, such as govt. bailouts.

however, the remedies and goals -- if they even know what they want -- seem to be some from of '60s protest socialism (yes, this time that's an appropriate label) that just seems to be silly and will so not ever happen.

It's not really the businesses. It's the investors that are demanding bigger profits every quarter. The 90/10 principal seems to be the 99/1 principal these days.  There's obviouly a *lot* more to it, but the forces that are driving these people crazy seem to be obscured from their view.

My point is that they feel free to utilize the "fruits" we do have, from BIG BUSINESS without a thought about it at all.

And to who the INVESTORS are?? "We have seen the INVESTORS and they AM US!"

I go back to an old post on some of the meetings I have gone to. All the GRAY,BALD,WRINKLES in the room raise hell about the Profits the BIG BUSINESS people get. When I ask who in the room is on retirement..many times all raise their hands. I then ask them if they know what a portfolio is and many go glasseyed. I explain to them that their retirement portfolio just may have up to 20-25% oil stock and many stocks in companies they are badmouthing.

Seems they don't realize that the retirement they are living on is greatly enhanced by theses DEVILS. They get quiet right away. Now.... don't get me wrong..I don't like to pay what I do for utilities and fuel as well as the commodities I need day to day. I do not have a large retirement... seems I never thought about needing anything beyond being comfortable with what I had. But... I do know why things are the way they are and the very people NOW BITCHING...could have been more observant of their surroundings but..no. So we found ourselves living the "good life".. like a steer in a meadow of sweet green grass with no idea that by noon tomorrow someone will lay a tube to our head and the last thing we hear is "click" and the lights go out. Even the Younger ones are knowledge challenged in day to day things.

Folks... never understood why generation after generation of COLLEGE BOUND..never took their "new found maturity" to the level of understanding the ramifications of taking a school loan on the front side and NOT realizing what was waiting on the back side. Add to this... for all who venture to the CAMPUS life... many never get the sheepskin. And if they do..they find that there is little call for a vocation in what they earned or that it "pays well". NOW they are mad??

Seems when a Mine Sweeper was called for... the only guy who showed up was one who was willing to close their eyes, plug their ears and "walk forward"... consequences be damned. AND NOW we bitch??

All of this is and will be, a painful lesson, but rest assured... we will do it again. It runs in cycles... ask those still alive from the Depression Era or even those still able to flip a burger following their "prosperous" times invested in DOT COMS.

Folks... bottom line.. I blame us for the inability to distinguish between NEEDS and WANTS and being uninvolved in the process of "making sausage". I wonder if any of those Protesters have even followed the path of a Legislative bill, let alone took time to read one? The process can be prohibitive with all the crap but... they should do it. We cannot just " PASS THE BILL BEFORE WE KNOW WHAT IS IN IT" anymore.

We planted a garden and then "forgot" to weed it. Now there is no fruits or flowers...just a patch of.... weeds.

Ok... I have read your past posts... maybe you should head it.... What do you want us to bring? Posters, Ballbats, Guns, Bombs....and who will we use them against? Oh yes... our neighbors, Police,etc.... all but the main targets of the bitching. Remembering the likes of Ayres and his ilk. And don't forget the war cry... "don't trust anyone over 30!" .... or was that 40?

We already have a revolution. In my neighborhood the havenots steal from the havenots... real smart huh? Is that revolting enough for you? We have people in the streets ready to do property damage on the businesses but... they are insured so who do you think gets hit harder by the increasing INSURANCE PREMIUMS? Talk is so damned cheap. Destruction is just as dumb. Hey, I have an idea... wanna fight high costs of health care... lets burn down a hospital... doctors, nurses and patients inside... or maybe destroy a WALMART... all those Wife Beater T-Shirts be damned.

Revolution? WTF is YOUR idea of a "REVOLUTION"?? This ain't the 1700's anymore.... Revolutionaries of our 60's have become the "Establishment" ( Damned sellouts...huh?...they are now the bank execs and business owners who have multi million dollar bonuses and retirements.) and Ghandi isn't my iconic hero. Name the poison.

My long standing point is that we remained the frog in a slowly heated pan of water. WE allowed this. Now...let the pain begin.

Maybe this will lead to a revolution.  We need one.

Wow...should make quite a point...
