Election 2012

Alrighty then. Since it's about to heat up. I figured there might as well be a dedicated topic thread.
I thought this was interesting. I mean - the fellow had 89 seconds of air time in the last debate, yet he's in 2nd place in Iowa?
From the article:
Quote>>>> The four-way tie moving forward will present an interesting challenge to conservative media, which seems to have been content ignoring Paul as much as possible. Even in the instances where he’s won or placed highly in typically influential Republican polls, his victories have been swept under the rug as pundits continued to focus on candidates thought to be more favored by Republicans. <<<<
Lifetime:
I knew it was Paul. It seems the Media or Network feels it has the job of pushing certain candidates...if just for part ratings. I find this disheartening and a lot dishonest to the people as well as the candidates. If ...say I garnered the "money" support to buy a ticket.. for a ride..I should get the same ride as the rest. Equal. This is why I don't even bother to watch these until the field is trimmed a bit.
What we have , right now is just a few of the field being prodded for the show. Don't get me wrong, I am not a Paul supporter but I am a proponent of fair play. I may start to watch when there are only 3 or 4 and the stage isn't a CIRCUS.
The Media and Politics reminds me of the person who secretly godes two other people to want to fight. They just happen to be there when the 2 bump into each other and then circles both and asking to hold their coats while they get down and dirty. I have less respect for media than I do Politics or close to the same.
Media has lost it's true mission... to REPORT the news and not to form or make it. Politicians were there for the Good of the People they represent and not MAKE the people to fit their strategies...and become enriched doing so.
IMHO

i like some of his ideas. Others are a bit odd. But in the interest of fairness, i, too, am mystified why he can do something like come in 2nd in a straw poll, yet all the attention goes to the 4th-place challenger a dozen or two percentage points behind.
actually, with his real elected experience and consistent positions over the years on the issues, he's a better, more-electable person than most of the other one-issue, inexperienced or extreme-spectrum contenders.
yet mysteriously, he is just ignored despire holding his own rather well.
lifefeedsonlife:
It's almost as if the news outlets are treating this as their own personal reality show.
lifefeedsonlife:
Hmph. Not only in Iowa - but in New Hampshire as well.
