So - there's a difference between non-intervention and isolationism. I find it interesting that 70% of active military political donations go to Ron Paul.

This is a very interesting video. Former CIA being interviewed.

Dr. Paul on Jay Leno. Probably the most 'mainstream' talking time the fellow has gotten.

We have a GOP field of about 10. We are bantering about why one will be better than the rest. What I have seen so far is a big game of WHACK A MOLE. Some like Paul..some the Newt or even Santorum.. Still too soon for me...and the party pick still may not be who I vote for. My man or woman may not win but my conscience will be clear. I don't ACCEPT the lesser of two EVILS... I pick who I feel is right. To take Maleria over Bubonic, doesn't make you better..it still makes you sick. I learned a long time ago of the almost unknown practice of "writing in" who you feel is best if the menu doesn't offer a taste for you. I may not win but when I wake up the next day, I don't find a 20 on the dresser and need to visit the Doctor. Many in America constantly wish for Do Overs... sorry, once the song starts..it only stops at the end. Enjoy the music. IMHO

I thought I had during a conversation with a friend today:

I don't see a lot of difference between the R's and D's in terms of their controlling nature. What I see is the idea that "I (or we as a like minded collective) am (are) perfectly capable of self-governance, but NOT THOSE PEOPLE OVER THERE!" And when one 'side' gets in, they enact their particular brand of controls till people react and elect the other 'side' who then enact more but never seem to repeal what was put in place before them. So the "winner" becomes government, of which both 'sides' (parties) have a virtual monopoly on power. The elite D's are just as much the 1% as the elite R's. It's a giant clusterfuck of burgeoning bureaucracy right now - and it's just being added to and added to . . . to the point where Orwell looks like a prophet.

Not sure where to put this - so I'll put it here. I'm not a fan of Krugman - not at all. I think Ron Paul looked a little tired, but ya know - the man knows his stuff . . .

Ron Paul wins Louisiana Caucus

Mainstream media sources ignore story . . . especially the part where he won the Massachusetts caucus over the weekend too. Not like that would be news - I mean it's not like Massachusetts has any connection to Rmoney or anything . . . .

An interesting take on how who feels about what when their party is or is not in office. The audio is pretty good too.

Have always wondered... no matter how the POTUS or VPOTUS feels about same sex marriage... It is said that it is states rights to determing the validity in each state. That being said..scenarios

Being in the Military means you have to follow the Laws of the State you are stationed in..be it age of consent, age to marry, or use to be... drinking. Now comes the question... married in one state but marriage isn't recognized in the state you are stationed in and entering into contracts like leases, credit etc... Hmmm can of worms?

And this... when they divorce... and they have say..2 children adopted.. Who is Mommy and Who is Daddy and who gets custody? More worms?

This could also apply to the world of business when a position occurs in different states and the laws therein.

There are a lot of legal questions as to the union, employment as well as various Legal matters like those I mentioned as well as probate after one passes...

Sorry folks... I am traditional... Marriage is M+F to me. Various sites I have seen show numbers from 2% to 20% are gay.. And if they all don't marry, we are changing laws for a very small minority..maybe. Hmmm how many out there want to marry their farm animals?? or are transgender or even BI..?? What do we have to do to bring all of them into this fold??? Just my thoughts... Don't kill the messenger.. I think we are in for a very stickey wicket.

It's a dicey situation. The marriage issue has lots (LOTS) of issues to work out. One of the big issues that spawned the whole thing was hospital visitation, power of attorney and legal issues that surrounded end of life issues. I have differing feelings on the matter in that some of the things they should have had access to they didn't and it was stupid. Having a legal binding union is going to make for some very messy legal battles and precedents where in the future. I don't have a problem with it per-se, but I don't think all of the possible twists and turns had the proper due-diligence performed either. It is what it is and if he's true to his word then it's a state by state issue and I can live with that.

Funny thing about Hospital Visitations, power of attorney or any legal issues.

If I am deemed right of mind (debatable at times) I can make LEGAL contracts to allow certain people to visit me or act in my behalf on all of my contractual obligations and needs. I can deem a complete stranger as the one to "pull my plug"... as long as I am viewed to be sane. Power of Attorney can be divided as to the process you need to follow. My wife has POA but..for my Veteran Disability case..I can give that part to another entity to act in my interests.

The only thing I can't control is the parameters of care for my "dependents" outside traditional Marriage.. If I am GAY.. ( sorry, not) I cannot force my employer to give benefits, under my employment, to anyone other than a LEGAL Spouse and dependents. All other things are PERSONAL legal issues.

With a 50% divorce rate I have to laugh at the presentation of the "sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman".  It is homophobia plain and simple.

I think it's kinda funny that in North Carolina, you can marry your cousin, but not your gay cousin.
