Mother leads charge for son’s autism therapy
Spicoli:
This is a pet peeve of mine.
People who can't afford to have kids have kids and then expect the govt. to pick up the tab.
We need to figure out a way to make parents responsible for the care of their kids.

Wanna talk about PET PEEVES... here is a good one...They busted a gaggle of thieves who ran a day care scam. Reading the list of names involved...most were on Welfare to begin with but here is the rub..
Most were place on House arrest and probation with the added requirement of restitution. Ok...ready for this
Court Cost
$10 daily charge for the ankle bracelet
Thousands in restitution..
WTF
and how do they pay for all of this? Welfare? and where does that come from??. And to add insult to injury, one was observed buying processed and junk food for the Super Bowl Game. My wife and I and our two Grandkids ate homemade stuffed cabbages for the kickoff. No wings, beer or chips.
I am doing all of the wrong things I think sometimes.
I will admit... I didn't grow up in a world that included, Glutin intollerance, Allergies to peanuts, Autism, ADHD, ADD, and a lot of the things catagorized today but.. THEFT is THEFT and to the THIEF should go the penaties, not the honest taxpayers. Life goes on.

Wouldnt they be able to garnish the welfare check? I dont know.
gore range:
Nope.

Gore's answer is what happens. They have kids and the first question the AHoles ask about is.."What about the kids?" Why is that MY problem when their own parents won't/didn't ask THEMSLVES that same question before crapping on themselves.
Add this to the list... The DPW alots a card to the recipient to buy food for their kids... this coming from Federal Program money. Paid once.... to FEED their own children. Now.... because these adults don't have the sense to wake up and feed their kids breakfast or even an afternoon meal... my School Taxes (State/Local) supply the meals PAID TWICE. So if the family is paid to feed their children, then the school should be reimbursed the money FROM.... the original "Food Stamp" allotment the family received. The meals for family members should only be paid for ONCE. IMHO
If I sound cold... I am, when I am being ripped off..illegally or legally. My grandparents and parents were responsible for the family and this was before the "Great Giveaway" of Pres. Johnson in the 60's. I, responsibly, took care of my own without others taking over my responsibilities.
I will say this... In the early 70's I had to take 3 months of foodstamps. I was in SEA and wife and child needed food and I didn't make enough fighting a War. When I got home... I went to work and informed DPW I had received those 3 months worth and was there to pay them back ...in full. It is the way I was raised. I tried to do that but I think they didn't know how to handle my request to repay and eventually I was informed to not worry about it. I...at least tried.
Are the programs good? YES...if the people involved are honest and don't rely on it for the rest of their lives if options are available. Help and Support are 2 different positions.
