Hmmm, before marriage I used to end them with "I'll see you later when we can talk about this." and walk. It was a good short term solution. Fortunately I rarely (if ever) argue with the wife. Nothing ever gets accomplish by it anyhow. Common sense goes right out the window for me when I'm pissed off.

exactly. I think I listened to too much richard pryor, george carlin & sam kinison when I was younger. I just go outside & start working. Or put on headphones & come up with a great metal song.

I used to use the scorch & burn philosophy which was effective, but lonely.

When my husband and I had our first date we tried one of those electronic horoscope compatibility machines in an arcade. I'm a Taurus and he's a Capricorn. Basically the thing said that I was stubborn and bull headed and he was kind and sweet and patient. It went on to say that we would get along just fine because he was so wonderful.

So whenever we get into an argument, he just gives me a sh!t-eating grin and says, "Do you remember the horoscope machine?"
