Rendell proposes $28.3B budget

Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell on Tuesday unveiled a $28.3 billion budget for the commonwealth for fiscal 2008. Evidently the state wants to bankrupt itself in the same way the Federal government does.

That's it.  I'm moving to Australia.  Or austria.  I always wanted a roo as a pet but getting back to family might be nice too.

Well - the only real positive I could see about Hillary getting the Presidential nod is that she may a) give Rendell the VP position or b) give him a cabinet position if he wins. Either way - he'll get the hell out of Pennsylvania.

Don't know how familiar any of you are with Philadephia politicians, but I used to work for one. Stinkin' drunk that guy was. (Used to be a PA State Senator.) Photo opportunist and back room dealer too. He and Rendell ran against each other for Mayor in Philadelphia. Rendell won - but they stayed friends. When Rendell got the governorship - we got some interesting contracts for some quid pro quo thing. (If we got our employees to go union, the State would grant us the contract to do the EAP for that Union innegotitations.) Ethics? Who needs ethics?

The tolling of I-80 is a joke. There's been no property tax relief but plenty cronies building casinos, and now this monstrosity.

Rendell is a thug. (Anyone remember who the lawyer in the stands was that instigated the infamous 'snowball' incident at the Vet in '89? Yep - you guessed it! And what about the 100mph speeding thing on the turnpike a while back? Governor's privilege. I mean - who needs safety around travellers?) The Dems in the State Legislature roll over like happy puppies to have their bellies scratched when he proposes something. The Republicans act like the puppies that pissed the carpet.

God forbid I should type what I REALLY think . . . .  :)

What I like about you Life is that you are a straight shooter. You use enough facts to be credible and you are spot on! on your assessments.

You should run for Mayor of Meadville. Seriously. You have great ideas and a huge fan base.  ;D
