Oh how pretty
« on: July 21, 2007, 06:53:40 PM »
I know that this doesn't belong in this topic and how dare I make the first post in this topic, of topic. Where do I get my nerve? Well Ihave always found it interesting to occasionally see things through a womans eyes, regardless how much the vision may be skewed by the media. Let's look at magazine covers for example, what is being spoon fed to women (and men too) id how a woman is supposed to look. So lets take a recent example of a Redbook cover. On the cover is the pretty Faith Hill. Evidently someone decided that the real faith wasn't up to magazine cover quality so they photoshopped her. Click on the image below to see the original image rotated with the artists rendering of her with on the magazine cover.

By the way, I'm not looking for any editorial on this, it's just and illustration of how doctored up things we see can really be!

That's bizarre.

I have two daughters and let me tell you, it is hard nowadays to teach your girls to grow up being happy with whay God has given them.  Honestly, everything goes OK until they hit high school then everything you have told them either goes out the windw or ha some bearing.  You can't know really until they start to pull thier heads out of their behinds at about 17 or 18 where they decide "I am me.....like it or leave it"........or they take off down the road with the "Keepin' up with the Joneses" attitude......those are the ones who get the boob job and lipo and whatnot.  Always trying to impress everyoe but themselves.  Don't get me wrong.  I have my make up palette, I fix up my hair and will color it when the time comes, I exercise and skip out on pie now and again but will I physically alter myself?  Heck no.  There is a fine line between vanity and obsession with women.
