China has now clearly overtaken the United States as the world's leading emitter of climate-warming gases, a new study has found. The increasing emissions from China - up 8 percent in the past year - accounted for two-thirds of the growth in global greenhouse gas emissions in 2007, the study found.

What do you guys think of nuclear energy as a sustainable source for electricity production?

I think it's a viable source. The real estate for construction and waste disposal are probably the biggest hurdles to overcome. Nobody wants the power plant or the dump anywhere near them. Right now it appears to be our best option. Of course the oil will run out before we could get any of them on line though.
