An amusing story (at least to me ) as reported by the NSFD.

Crews from the 17 House provided assistance on two rescues Monday. The first one was a 25-year-old female stuck in a child swing at Tuttle Beach in Pymatuning State Park. 17-9 and 17-8 responded to the beach area where a Pymatuning Park Ranger was already on scene. Crews found the female trapped with both legs stuck in the swing. To make matters worse the patient did have a history of a hip replacement and was in pain. Crews stabilized then lowered the swing by disconnecting it from the cross bar. Once lowered, crews worked for about an hour slowly cutting through the sides of the swing to free the female. Once the swing was off, Chief 31 assessed the female and she refused transport by ambulance.

Maybe she's done this type of thing before?  No indication of the "size" of the female. Sad that she was tryng to have some fun & got stuck. Do they have big girl swings there?

Well speaking as a ummm "mature" adult who has young children, If were to attempt to get in some of the childs toys at the park, I'd need help getting out, period.

A couple of interesting tidbits I found out listening to the scanner archives.  She had the hip replacement in 2004, so she had to be 21 when it was replaced.  The fireman felt uncomfortable trying to get her out of the swing with a hip replacement and called for an ambulance to assist.  A call went out to Linesville Ambulance with no response for over 5 minutes.  They eventually dispatched an ambulance out of Meadville.  After 30 minutes the ambulance still wasn't there when I had to leave to run an errand.  She was dam lucky she was only stuck in a swing.

ive   known of two  persons who were young that had   hips replaced, a girl who while pregnant went into acute liver failure and had a liver transplant, the anti-rejection drugs and prednisone ruined her hip joints, she was 25 i think, then when my mom (at 74) had her hip done a young guy at the same hospital  had a hip replaced at the same time, he told us it was from drug abuse of some sort... i cant remember his whole story...
